We are absolutely blown away. The waitress was able to recommend a delicious wine pairing with our dinner, she was polite, paid us enough attention, but also let us have enough alone. When we mentioned it was our anniversary we got a complimentary dessert. It smelt like a wood fire, there were candles burning, it was so romantic, and such a great experience. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

I’ve always been a fan of the keg but this place has a very unique atmosphere, it’s a historic site and has the full etiquette to go along with it. I switched from my regular bone-in rib to the New York strip, and I’ve been impressed yet again. They are extremely accommodating and made the effort to inquire about the ingredients of the sauce as I try to avoid carbs. They doubled up on the vegetables and offered me various options, not the seasonal medley type. It’s a great place for a date or for a small gathering, the authenticity of the place is worth experiencing, even if the parking lot is a maze sometimes and it’s always packed and you can’t get bookings on the weekends.

My husband and I had dinner New Years Eve and were totally disappointed. This was not the first time we had eaten there, so we could not understand the decline in services. Long wait for seating. Reservation was for 7:15: waited in very cold entrance for 30 minutes before we were seated. Server seemed to be preoccupied with something other than his clients. Asked if we wanted a drink, ordered wine, (which by the way was the wrong wine) when we finally received it. Received bread which was nice and warm. Ordered prime rib, mine was med rare and tough, my husbands was ordered med. rare and was rare and tough. Green beans were hardly steamed, very crisp. Plates went back and no comment on whether we were unhappy with the meal as most of it was on the plate, asked if we wanted dessert, ordered and was received, no request as to whether or not we wanted tea or coffee, we were also never asked if we wanted a second glass of wine. Totally disappointed in the whole experience so left well before window of 2 hours. Unfortunately we have since talked to people who have had the same experience, so we will not be frequenting this restaurant again

Love this place! The Atmosphere is amazing and the food is always good. They came to check up on me since I told them my steak was a little over cooked but it wasn't a big deal. I ate the steak anyways to me it's not big deal, stuff like this happens. The manager came and told me that drinks were on them and so was dessert. I told him he didn't have to do that but he indicated that he wanted to make sure I enjoyed my experience.

The Keg in general has broad appeal and has successfully marketed to the mid-range suburban crowd. As a result, the steak is not going to knock your socks off; hence, 3 stars. In fact, for the most part, I can obtain from my local butcher and BBQ an equivalently enjoyable steak. A higher end steak house seems to have access to beef products that Joe citizen can't obtain which is why the price is going to be higher. Having said that, the wait staff is very professional albeit slightly scripted. If you are unable to cook a quality New York to a perfect medium rare then I wholeheartedly recommend the Keg. Additional advice get there horseradish to accompany your steak and go for the mini dessert. Photo is the Kansas city (on special) and the mini Brownie.
PS I haven't been to a Keg for probably 15 years and this will most likely be my last.
