Nice neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Didn’t make reservation on a Saturday morning but was able grab a table really quick. The dim sum were pretty good. Nice portions at reasonable price. Their food were not as salty as some other places and I didn’t feel thirsty after the meal, which meant they didn’t use much or any MSG. Service was quick. I would go back to give their dinner menu a try.
Traditional Chinese dim sum, price good, protion good! every dish is delicious! especially the egg tart ,pork bun and spring rollI think is the new versionyummy! I like the new renovation , brighter and tidy than before. love to chat with the owner who passion about his job ! good job! Definitely will come back
Great location for Dim Sum, if you’re in Burnaby or North Vancouver. We’d typically drive to Richmond for good Dim Sum, but thought we’d try this much closer location. There was plenty of variety, and the food was well prepared. We even decided to get some take-out. The only downside is that tables were quite squished together so people were bumping into our chairs as they came and went.
Do NOT waste your money here. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. How does everything taste so off here? Was the chef sick today? I’m not sure, as several reviews also state the food is small, overpriced, bland etc. There are a LOT of Chinese restaurants of this type in the lower mainland, and even in the Burnaby area. Every single one of those places I’ve tried does a lot better than this one. This feels like food that’s just been slopped together and called Chinese food. At this point I’d rather have to-go Chinese food from a food court and it would be better. At least put a little care and heart into your food. I’m a little suspect at how they keep and cook their food, as a couple of my family got food poisoning from eating this. I wish I was joking.
Went for dim sum. Very fast service. Eggplant with shrimp was kinda lacking in flavour but everything else was good. Parking is kind of a gongshow despite them having a decent sized lot. The 2 free public lots around them get full fast also. Price is medium/high for dim sum.
Good dim sum place and the owner will give you complimentary egg tarts if you order over a certain value of items I think. Their shrimp dumplings, chicken feet and egg tarts are good.Food: 4/5
Our friends have told about this new place. So we check it out and an awesome dinner. Friendly service in a great clean atmosphere. Plan to do the dim sum soon.
Update: we tried it in the restaurant twice. I must say the quality of the food here is good. Siew Mais are the best! Har Gow, Rice Rolls and Chicken Feet are good! Char Siew Pastry has a good hint of ginger taste in it. The salted egg fish skin is the best I ever had. The black truffle mushroom dumpling is unparalleled! Boss is very friendly. I'll be back!
I've eaten at Ryan's and now at Jade Palace. I don't understand the negative reviews. The place is better looking. Portion sizes are bigger and prices and quality are higher. The waitresses at Ryan's were nice but not much different from the ones now. The hargau was quite good, big pieces with a thin wrapper, overflowing with shrimp and with no fillers. The baked bun were sweet light with finely minced pork. I ordered special chow mein and cod with tofu hot pot for take out and they were quite good. Kitchen was sanitary, so I don't understand the accusation of food poisoning. If it were real, they should have called coastal health as I've done with another restaurant in the past. The truffle mushroom dumpling was exceptional and one of the best vegan dishes I ever tried. It's a lot better than the biased reviews make it out to be.
Bustling spot for weekend dim sum. Recommend making a reservation. Food and service were just right.
