Lu Lu Kitchen is a great spot for a late night snack. The staff were friendly and helpful as we found the menu a bit confusing as some skewers have a minimum order amount. Overall the food was delicious and the portion size was decent. They also gave us free side dishes peanuts and marinated broccoli and seaweed. We loved the chicken skin and would highly recommend it. At the end, they gave us complimentary vanilla ice cream as well. We also found it enjoyable that they were playing soft music and anime on the television.
I had revisiting the restaurant with my other friends for the second time. The quality and taste of the meats were consistent. Service was poor thou because servers were not actively asking for refilling water and or delivering more napkins regardless of on high demands due to high volume of customers and shortage of stuff. However, it was understandable in that situation. There is a minimum of 5 orders on certain choices. We enjoyed our meal and we will definitely revisit again maybe in less than a month!
Extremely nice service that explained difference dishes we couldn't figure out on their menu. The skewers were large and each was flavored differently. I'd say one of the top skewer places in town. Great looking atmosphere and clean.
We walked by this restaurant in early summer and decided to try it out as we love Chinese BBQ and loved the food so much. Be have been to pretty much all the BBQ places in the lower mainland and Lu Lu is definitely the best. My wife is Chinese and very picky with food and she was so happy with the quality and flavor. We decided to go again for our 13th wedding anniversary dinner, last weekend and the food was again amazing as the first time, the service is good and the waitress friendly. The restaurant is very clean and a nice atmosphere. The only minor complaint is the chicken & pork belly skewers had a little bit too much sugar on them, other then that everything was perfect and looking forward to going back soon, got a get more stamps on my loyalty card Maybe next time we can meet LuLu i almost forgot the skewered Chinese buns are so epic I had to order more, there much better than what I had in China.
Hit or miss with this restaurant. Overall not worth the price. I’ve ordered from here twice for delivery, some items are good BBQ Garlic Scallops, BBQ squid, Garlic clams seasoned nicely but kinda small portion. Then there are items that are just so not worth the price such as the scallop skewer. Almost $10 for 2 skewers each with 3 tiny pieces of scallops the size of the first thumb joint. The scallop tasted sour too. I gave it a second chance after my first disappointing order but I guess really both misses for me. Hope the service at the store is out of this world otherwise I’m never ordering here again.
Really good food! Forgot to take pictures when got our food because it smelt so good I had to eat it quickly. We ordered the lamb and chicken skewer, wonton soup, bread with condensed milk, cucumber salad, and another soup thing I forgot what it’s called. I highly recommend the cucumber salad and bread with condensed milk because it’s so good and suitable for all ages. The waitress’ are so nice as well!! I love the environment of where the restaurant is placed because it feels a bit like Vancouver downtown.
Friendly staff, lots of free street parking nearby I went on a Tuesday night 7pm, it was pretty empty. Pretty filling, we split a bunch of skewers lamb - wasn't too gamy, beef, chicken, scallops, innards. $56/person, we had a table of 5 people. Massive garlicky scallops with LOTS of garlic, same with the eggplant side dish and enoki mushrooms. I like how the skewers had their own flavours, instead of only 1 generic seasoning at some skewer/bbq places. My favourite skewers was this chicken? I think It was sugary sweet on the outside, and it was absolutely delicious. I'd visit again!
Two years ago my girlfriend and I were looking for some late night food online and found Lu Lu kitchen. We have since gone back at least 10-15 times, and this has become one of our favourite restaurants in the area. The service is always friendly, we love the chicken, lamb and pork belly skewers and the prices are reasonable.
Went here for a late dinner and the food itself tasted great however the customer service could have been better. They all seem like nice people though and this place does seems like there is a lot of potential for growth. Hope the business does well, would definitely come back here every now and then!
Excellent foods and great services. Dumplings in soup are yummy and the BBQ skewers were tasty and spicy, which I like. The northern Chinese cuisine itself is relatively new to Vancouver and definitely new to me. I like the 5 kinds of skewers dipped in very spicy hot soup/sauce that I ordered, all very good. One setback is that it is located on E. Hastings near Gamma, far from my Vancouver home. My second visit was two weeks later, tried even more better food photo.
