Inn at the Gorge

This will be an odd review for two reasons: 1) It has taken me forever to write it; my Oregon trip was in September 2017, when there were major fires (major, but overshadowed by the loss of life and property in CA in 2017) 2) I never actually stayed there, due to the fires. Having chosen the Inn at the Gorge on the basis of reviews, I was so impressed with the way in which they understood (in a panicked phone call by me) that I, as a hiker, was worried about coming and fulfilling my reservation. I commend them for "customer care" and vow to return and stay there on my next visit, plus recommending them highly.

Wonderful time! Clean,great breakfast,wonderful staff,spacious rooms and loved using the e- bikes offered. I received excellent ideas on where to go with bikes. Enjoyed the white water on the White Salmon River close by in Washington. wineries,wonderful restaurants. Best trip thanks to advise of the Inn at the Gorge!

The location was nice and quiet away from the town center, a quaint old house with lots of character. Our hosts were very accommodating and knew quite a bit about local attractions. The only downside was that the room was very near to the kitchen, so we could hear others come and go. All in all, a wonderful stay.

You're getting what you're paying for. A bit of a rustic feel, tons of privacy, lots of spaces to relax, a welcoming staff, a delicious breakfast burrito. They also had conveniences such as Chromecasts, WiFi, and coffee. My room (the Rose suite) had a kitchenette with microwave, full oven/stove, mini fridge, and all the dishes to cook with. Also, the air conditioner kept it at a cool 70 degrees in the heat of summer. My only complaint was there were a few more bugs than I was used to. No fault of the cleaning service; the place was clean. But since it's in an old building, there are presumably lots of cracks and crevices for bugs to get in.

This property is under new ownership and management. Experiencing a redesign. Roses: The owner is energetic, welcoming and extremely helpful with suggestions and questions. The e-bike rental was worth the $$$ - one of the highlights of our stay. Breakfast (burritos) were brought in from a local market - there is the option to opt out of breakfast to venture on your own. Owner's dog was a sweet as they come. Our room spacious, bed and linens comfortable, excellent WiFi. Thorns: Unfortunately, our room, The Terrace Room, had the faint scent of "cat spray" especially intensified at night. Altho, marijuana use is legal in the state, I found the smell of it on the property disturbing as the house is a business that caters to the comfort of it's guests.
