Hood River Hostel

Rude owner! Very unprofessional. I will never stay here again and urge all to stay away! After no recollection of my reservation and very rude service we were given the dorm with 10 beds as a private room. I was not told if I had more guests stay that I would be charged. Sure enough the creepy old owner snooped around and noticed we had an extra person stay one night of the 2 nights we booked and he angrily demanded $50 per extra person. Which is way overpriced IMO. The breakfast was a joke. The wifi was non existent. There was no one else staying there on a weekend, probably because this guys customer service is appalling. He mentioned he also owns Brians pour house. Stay away from these businesses.

I did not have a good experience. The hallways were packed with storage items and the room I was given was very small. I paid $100.00 for it and I had booked the Master Suite. There were no windows and the door was made private by brown paper taped to it. I was awoke by two people having sex up against my door on a chair that was randomly placed in the hall at 4:00 am. I contacted the Hostel to ask why I didn't get the Master Suite and if I could discuss a partial refund and I have not been contacted. This was a very uncomfortable experience. For $100.00 get a hotel with a bathroom and towels at least.

My girlfriend and I had a great time here. The dorms were very clean. Tim was very friendly and helpful. The Continental breakfast was nice and out out with care. Only thing I would recommend is hand drying towels in the bathrooms, and to spruce up the hallways a little.

For what it is, it's high class. I was considering sleeping in a rest area, but needed to be fresh for a class in the morning. For $50 I got a clean bed, hot shower, and delicious breakfast. It felt safe, clean, and decent.

Okay place. Amenities were nice. I feel like it used to be a school though? Also one of the guys working there was pretty ride when we tried to check in only 30 minutes early. It was fine to say no but he wasn't nice even telling us we were early. Kinda lame.
