I have been going to Wallicut for 4 summers and they have always been wonderful in helping get my large group set up with sites, and that’s putting it simply. Given the opportunity, they do everything they can to make their campers happy. This last year was super wet and there some deep places in the grass where water had puddled. As soon as we mentioned it, they were right there filling them. They made sure we had an area for our annual picnic and sooooo much more. There were some bumps when the new company took over ownership but they have continued to work hard at making it a better campground and in communication with our group, and for that they get an A+!! This is a simple, private campground so don’t expect a bunch of frills. They are also short-staffed, like every other place post-pandemic, so don’t expect perfection. Instead, be patient, communicate, and you will see what a great campground this truly is!
Please don’t let all these crazy reviews scare you away, we stayed last night and this was a wonderful place to camp! Close to Astoria, the sites were super spacious and well maintained, restrooms were clean, showers were hot, and it was quiet. Every site has a picnic table and fire pit. We have been on a road trip for the past 3 months and this was definitely one of the nicer places we have stayed at!
This was the 2nd time of staying here and we loved it again this year. Loved the new changes but sad to see the trees or brush taken out between the sections. I hope they let it grow back. The new picnic tables were nice to have also. There was a ton of gravel added to the sites that were very soggy last year. I didn’t go to the bathroom or showers there but the potta potties were very clean. We will be booking again next year!
I recently had the opportunity to stay at Wallicut River RV and Campground. When you first enter you are greeted by the office with nice looking camp spaces on either side. Gravel pads and a grass area to enjoy. When I called three months earlier, I was told they had no availability, but that they were in the process of creating new RV sites in the back half of the property. When we arrived, check in was easy as all the paperwork was ready. The eye opener was when we drove back to the new sites. Fresh gravel pads were waiting in a sold out section. Electricity and water worked without a hitch and the site was large enough for our 40’ fifth wheel and truck. There are no sewer hookups in this area of the RV park, but bathroom facilities are available in the way of a porta-potty which was located about 30 feet behind our rig. The complaint of dirty bathrooms isn’t justified, however, be prepared to walk to the front office where flush toilets and showers are located. The porta-potties are more of an eye sore. The sites themself are unfinished. At least I would hope they would be finished in the future. The nice gravel pads are roughly 12 inches above ground level and not wide enough so you can walk around a trailer or motor home with slide outs. The ugly part, the area between sites, is uneven dirt with weeds growing about 16” high. You are unable to see where you step and would be a hazard leading to injury to anyone trying to get out of their coach. With all that said, it has the potential to be a really nice campground. While I appreciated their ability to accommodate our stay, it would have been better to let me know the sites were not ready.
Clean cute cabin. Bathrooms nice too, but only complaint is cabins facing RV’s. Super close to beaches and hikes, but not walking distance. I had so much fun here!
Don't stay here if you plan on laughing or enjoying yourself by the fire after 10pm. We came here to camp with a 1 year old and 4 year old so I promise we were nowhere near noisy. But were harassed multiple times by the camp host to not laugh and talk after 10pm. Also the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting - flooded with mud and hair all over the floor. I'll never stay here again.
The "Resort", was definitely not a resort! A field near 101 with traffic noise at all times of the day. Noisy neighbors at 3 in the morning. Won't stay there again.
quiet because they are rude and anti veteran. They made me feel like I was trespassing when I offered to leave before I even checked in they said I might as well stay since there were no refunds. can't ground camp most of the time because it is a swamp.
Really nice place to stay, nice grassy areas for playing games and also places to walk your dog. The people who operate the campgrounds are very friendly. They do whatever they can to make her stay wonderful.
We were camped here for July and August. Safe, quiet relaxing. Very nice owners. Highly recommend.
