Small bakery in an industrial complex selling Japanese shokupan bread different flavours and other Japanese treats. I'm in love with their Tendou dream puffs. They are so good. The pastry is light and fluffy. The cream is silky without being too sweet. Pre-order online is recommended but they do have some walk in.
Stopped by their shop on Friday afternoon to check out their fresh made goods. I felt really lucky that I could pick up a box of their famous dream puffs Premium Choux Cream Set with 4 Choux on the spot. Their dream puffs were sold in a box of 4 pcs, 6 pcs or 12 pcs. I got a box of 4 pcs which included 4 flavours: espresso, vanilla, matcha & chocolate. They all tasted so fresh and delicious. We enjoyed each of them very much. It’s a bit pricey but the size was reasonable and the quality was good. The cream was very tasty but not too sweet. Can’t wait to go back and buy more.
Fluffy, fresh and delicious shokupan! This is hands down the best bread we ever had. Trust me, you will never go back to regular bread after trying this! 10/10
Amazing spot for Japanese shokupan bread! Didn’t visit the bakery, but I did get my hands on a loaf of their shokupan at their partner location oomomo! Slicing into the shokupan, you get that firm outer crust, but once you get inside, it’s just so soft! Soft and bouncy and it literally bounces back to original shape when you squeeze. Now I cannot wait to actually go to the bakery and check out all the other good stuff that is alongside iki! Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for better pics, vids and more amazing content!
We bought the set of 6. Among the six flavours I like the expresso and hojicha the most. For all of them, the filling is better than the puffs, perhaps because I kept them in fridge for a few hours, the puffs had absorbed the moisture from the filling. Will swallow them right the way next time.
Unbelievably simple, fresh, sweet, light...this hand crafted loaf has this remarkable perfectly marbled crust that gives your slice a perfect firmness but melts in your mouth as you bite in. The meat of the bread is just another piece of texture and flavour heaven. Used this amazing food art in a French toast dinner with fresh local eggs and homemade maple syrup...well one of THE best french toast I have ever had. Please give this bread a try, photos to come upon next order!
Saw the shop on a social media platform. The taste of the original loaf is better than chewy, soft with additional moisture its counterparts in grocery stores. Price vs. quality - I'm glad I only bought the $9 one. It doesn't worth the price.
Disappointed. Taste worse than Costco bread. Very stupid sales tricks: You can not choose what you want; they sell prepackaged frozen stuff and tell you: “it’s all freshly baked this morning!”. By the way, why is matcha bread only available on Thursday? What the hack? Isn’t Matcha the most attractive Japanese flavor? Shouldn’t it be available daily? This place is owned and baked by Chinese owner and baker. This is maybe why all the advertising fake good reviews are from the app XiaoHongShu. If you want to try real Japanese shokupan bread, you can go try Markham’s J town: “Bakery Nakamura”
The texture of the milk bread is soft but not the bouncy and the aroma and flavor of milk is kinda subtle when eaten at room temperature. Maybe it'd be better to warm it up in the microwave before serving. The cream puffs are all nice and rich in flavor just the Oreo one is too sweet for me, the puff itself is a bit crispy on the outside, especially the top, it's soft and chewy inside. Love the texture of it. Thumbs up!
Package is immaculate. The breads are overrated and overpriced. I am not impressed by the texture nor the taste of the breads. Apparently, I have expectation on a $16 loaf of chocolate and matcha bread. However, it didn't live up to the hype. It's not bad but definitely not excellent.
