Hy-Tea Tea House and Restaurant by the Lake

I heard about this place from so many people so I had to check it out for myself. It was exactly as described, fast friendly service, great tasting food. I can't wait to go back for the full 'hy tea' experience. My soup was good, the fresh made scone was to die for.

Lovely little cafe right by the shore of Lake Ontario in Pickering. Owner is wonderful and friendly. We had high tea with a decent array of sandwiches (including vegetarian only on request), a freshly baked scone, chocolate brownie and a bit of fruit. Food quality was good, not on the same scale as a five star hotel in downtown Toronto but we knew that and were pleased with what we got.

Brought my friend and baby here for a nice little lunch. Nice spot, friendly owner.

Went here after dinner for dessert and tea. Even though we came after closing, the owner was very happy to serve us. The two workers were super nice and caring. The tea came in cute teacups and was delicious. The desserts were homemade and very delicious as well. If I didn't live out of town I would return every night. The workers were so nice and made pleasant conversation.

The owner was very accomadating to out dietary restrictions when we booked the place for a tea party. Great service, amazing tea - the peach apricot was delicious.
