Halibut House Fish & Chips Pickering

Good fresh sea food. Friendly staff and good service. The fries are nice and crispy and fresh, the coleslaw is fresh and crispy. The halibut is cooked right and the batter smoothly complements the fish. The place is sparkling clean. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. Parking is free and is wheelchair friendly. Overall a great place for a high calorie fish and chips indulgence.

Good, bright dining atmosphere. Friendly staff and very modestly priced menus. Their halibut is hand cut from #1 large wild Alaskan halibut what the industry refers to as whales or barn doors - they are huge! Unlike some places that use twice frozen product to save costs, these guys use once frozen fish to bring the freshest eating experience to their patrons. All of their fish and chips are fried in a traditional beef tallow to provide that old-time English flavour. I'd say it's easily one of the best fish and chippers around.

I came here for take out on a Friday night, and as expected it was a tad bit busy, which I didn't mind since we knew we were getting freshly fried fish & chips. Super friendly staff, and the service for takeout was SO FAST, history I think it was only about 8min !! Even after sitting in the car for almost 10 minutes it still tasted delicious! The fish has a even costing of batter all around the fish, and they give you a ton of chips with your order. We came here with a coupon for 2 Haddock & Chips for $12 and boy was it a good deal. Next time, I definitely want to try the halibut & cod and see if they just as tasty. I would definitely reccomended trying this place out if you're in the area and are craving some fish and chips👌🏽 They also have a great Sunday & Monday Special which is definitely worth checking out

We have been there about 5 times now..always great fish and chips..As good Friday 2018 was approaching we wanted to make sure our family had a table for dinner(such a nightmare on that day) so called them on Tues before and reserved table for 8 at 4:45...we all show up after church and are told there is no reservation...and they dont take reservations!! Demanded to see manager who admits taking the reservation and tells us to wait and he will get us next table..1 hr later still waiting with little kids..NO TABLE..finally called Jack Asters, who said they had a table for us..THANK YOU JACK ASTER..thats where we will go again next year..excellent fish and chips there too without the poor treatment.

This is some of the best Fish & Chips I have had the pleasure of eating. Portions are large and the fish is very tasty. I try to stay away from deep fried foods but every once and while we have to breakdown and go for fish and chips. Definitely one of the better locations in Pickering for fish and chips. Premium price, but the portions are large and the food has always been consistent.
