I have been to Humble Roots twice. The good part is ease of parking right in front of the restaurant. The food both times was very good. The staff seemed friendly if somewhat green in terms of hustling around the restaurant. People who gather there seem to have all the time in the world so table turnover seems to be nonchalant which leads to a full house anytime from lunchtime onwards. You have to be on the lookout for a table as there really is only seating for about 25 people so when a couple lingers for an extra hour for a visit I can see that the place seems overly busy even if the inside is much more relaxed. The sandwich my buddy had yesterday was very good. It would probably be better presented with a few kale chips or even a pickle as the sandwich sits lovingly on the plate alone and a small companion would make it seem more like a meal. The prices are not excessive but it isn't catering to a crowd that is looking for a best bargain lunch either. The coffee was very good but at $2.70 for a cup it should be. Both times I have been at Humble Roots there was no staffer asking if we wanted a refill (which apparently is included in the first cup purchase). We did ask for one the first time and it was provided to one of the party but not offered to the rest of the group. The second time the cups were cleaned off the table after they were empty and no word was mentioned if we wanted a top up or refill. We paid our bill and the owner was asked about that. He said that he does provide no extra cost refills so maybe we just hit the wrong time and serving staff.

I had heard good things about Humble Roots. So I was in the neighbourhood and getting hungry. I decided I would look up where it was and head over for a late lunch. I was greeted immediately when I walked in. I ordered their Humble Melt with a small soup and a coffee. One of the owners suggested I order the sandwich with grilled onions. He was right, very tasty and hit the spot. With the small soup I left there very satisfied. The coffee I had was their medium roast. Just perfect for me. You can taste the freshness of the roasted, fresh ground beans they use. I can't wait to go back and try another menu item. Job well done to both of the owners.

Stopped by last weekend with my S/O, this place is just around the corner from our home. The anticipation of this place opening was always in the back of our minds as we watched Humble Roots slowly came together these past few months. So of course we were excited to finally give this place a shot. We arrived around 1:00 PM/ All and all I can say is that I'm thoroughly impressed. The place is small but is arranged in a way to maximize the room. I didn't feel crowded once we were seated, which was promptly. The server who attended to us was amazing. Very friendly too. Drinks were brought out quickly once ordered. The thing that stuck out to me the most (and the thing I hope Humble roots holds onto) was their flexibility. My S/O and I are vegan so we entered this place expecting to have a limited food selection which is fine. Some selection is better than none. BUT surprisingly that was not the case, instead they offered to make existing non-vegan dishes vegan by swapping out certain items. The fact that humble roots has the knowledge of veganism and how to incorporate it into non-vegan menu items was enough for me to come back. And I hadn't even gotten to the food yet. The food was AMAZING and the wait was not long at all. I ordered a wrap and my S/O ordered a breakfast skillet. The food was flavorful and the portions were just right. We enjoyed every bit of our meal. The baked beans were amazing. We had no complaints at all. I highly suggest stopping by and giving this place a shot. Oh, and make sure to ask for a side of their homemade ketchup!

My wife and I discovered about this place through a Facebook group, so we decided to try it out. A little out of the way, but a nice cozy little cafe with a decent selection of food. We went for brunch on a Friday, I had the Farmer's Skillet and my wife had the Humble Benny. Both were pretty good. Place itself was at full capacity, but there wasn't much of a wait. A little pricey for what you get, but pretty tasty and perfect sizes. Would recommend anyone to try this place out.

Good healthy food and good service. Nice little establishment in a nice area of Maple Ridge that needed it. Some of the vegetarian dishes are a tad bland and could use some more spice but still very good food and coffee! Definitely check them out.
