We were visiting Maple Ridge from Burnaby, and wanted to go where the locals go for lunch. We chose to drop by here and checked out the place. We weren't disappointed. We loved the ambience of the dining area. Our food was served hot and in big portions. The service was quick and friendly. Highly recommended.
Sister & I out for a bike ride. We came across this pub. Beautiful location right across from Fraser river on the Maple Ridge by-pass. We had excellent service sry chicki I can't recall your name even tho I did ask :/ she was attentive. She went above and beyond. At the end of the evening I was being attacked by mosquitoes and she was kind enough to bring me out her personal bug spray to use!! This blew my sister and I away. Thank you again. OK... the food was top notch my sister and I grew up eating very well and our taste buds just loved every bite of everything we both ordered - posted in the pics. A MUST try is the corn bread! Wow! It was a great way to start out our taste buds experience. My sister and I have already talked about going back b4 we even left on what table we wanted next on the patio. I am a singer and we found a tunnel right beside the pub. Huge bonus to my sister and I. We sang there for over an hr. Very much enjoyed this experience!
The place is amazing with beautiful view of the Fraser river and the food is really good. Well, the portion is very good with the appetising taste. We ordered Nachos, the beers not a big fan of beer so ordered small glass along with BBQ Chicken Pizza and hot chicken fries. The food was very tempting that we didn’t even take pictures of the pizza and fries and just started on with the food
I've been going here every week for a while now and the food is very good and the portions are quite big. They have a large selection on beers and drinks to choose from and the staff have always been friendly and helpful.
He's late at work, and the Westcoast Express is just pulling up to Haney Station. It will clear out here pretty fast - and She's had quite a day. A warm light in a wee establishment ahead looks inviting. A quick text arrives -- 20 - 25 min Baby - so Sorry. She quickly texts back as the quaint little pub stands tall in the darkness - Meet me at Billy Miners - 2nd round is on You. Another text snaps back - dinners on me, darling - see you soon. She enters and finds the last empty table - busy place, good sign. She orders a lovely Mission Springs Cherry Vanilla Tart Ale and a plate of those salt and pepper Smokehouse wings w/ sides of Kentucky BBQ for him and blue cheese for her. Hun arrives just as the wings do. He grins like she conjured his deepest wish. Another round of Cherry Vanilla Tart Ales and they add a Loose Caboose Burger with those famous Kennebec fries and a Garlic Chicken Woodoven Pizza - just golden. She is smiles, he is grins. fin.
Great place. We go often. Try the corn bread. My one an only complaint is the hours. Can't even go for Sunday or Monday night football. What pub closes at 9 or 10 pm???? Unfortunately we have to take our group elsewhere most of the time due to the early closings. Planning a birthday for the wife and can't go to our favorite spot in town because of the hours. Too bad.
All the food was so tasty. The garlic sauce combined with the bbq chicken was insane, so creamy and tangy. The bell ringer burger was surprisingly good, perfect amount of spice and the chilli sauce wasn’t too sweet, it was perfectly balanced. The pizza was shockingly good, one of the better pizzas I’ve had, only issue was because the ingredients were laid on heavy it needed a bit more sauce added such as Bbq sauce or ranch on top. They have a massive beer list to choose from as well. If you haven’t tried this place yet you are missing out!
January 31, 2023. I went there with my son to give him a reward lunch. Stagecoach Pizza and a chicken sandwich. Both were fine, not amazing but decent. We ordered two beers and glasses of water from the server in the almost empty restaurant at 12:15 pm. The water never did find its' way to our table. Neither did the server much. She brought two beers early on and then after a 25 minute pause the food arrived. However that was it for service. Later on I asked the other indifferent server for a take home box. One arrived and then nothing. My son left me at the Miner while I attended to the bill. But even as I sat there waving at her for 15 minutes our server was very good at ignoring me. Finally I did get a bill, dropped the cash on the table and told her that I was very disappointed in her inattention to a very limited roster of customers, but especially us. She had no excuse and basically my take on it is the Miner has no manager or supervision so these part timers who they bring on have careless interest in doing anything but living off the legacy of the Miner est. 35 years ago.
The food was tasty although its a bit pricy like hamburger is 20$ The ambience overall is nice , there are vintage items all over the place Its a bit noisy and congested, the service is okay . Overall , its a nice place to hang out sometimes
Moved into the apartments behind the pub today and walked to the billy miner for dinner. We had Justin as our server. He was phenomenal! He helped my husband find his new favourite beer, had great banter, and asked our names & shook our hands when he heard we live behind the pub and plan to be back. We definitely found our new spot.
