I discovered this place completely by accident. I was supposed to go to another cafe but they didn't offer indoor seating so a quick Google search led me to Hometown Diner. Was I happy at this chance encounter. Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! First of all, the ambience was perfection. Loved the airy, earthy vibe of the place. Secondly, the food was oh so delicious. And the serving was enough to feed me ten times over still managed to finish it in one sitting. And the servers were friendly and energetic. Final verdict: a must-try place for sure!
Stopped in for lunch and were greeted immediately by a super friendly lady. Our waitress was excellent and the food was great. They serve breakfast all day and the portions were large. Poutine, waffles and burger is what we had and all were so good. Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options on the menu though we did not try them. Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome. Had chairs for toddlers. Parking: We parked on the street and it's paid parking.
Amazing vibes at this place. Waitress was super nice and efficient, people kept filling our water and food came fast. It was also so delicious! We all got Brekkie Buns which included a side - value for money was unreal for only $12 bucks! Everything tasted super fresh and high quality and I especially loved how soft the buns were! We also got donuts to share and let me tell you: these are literally the best donuts I've ever had! So light and fluffy, not too sweet and the rotating flavours are all soooo good!! Left very satisfied but not overly stuffed so will definitely be back to try the rest of the incredible menu!
Great vibe. It reminds me of Portland, OR and Flagstaff, AZ. We walked in near noon on a Friday and had to wait for a table for two for about twenty minutes which isn’t bad. The donuts of the day were caramel macchiato and honey-dipped. We chose honey-dipped which was a nice yeast donut with a light glaze. For our entrees, we had the beef dip and brekkie bun with sausage. We had the potatoes on the side. Everything was delicious and savory. Our server was very friendly and conversational. I’d definitely return.
It is a friendly place to stay for lunch with friends and family. I love the decor and renovation. Food and drinks are above standard, reasonable price for lunch, we spent average $25 per person tax and tip included. Our waitress is very nice. We will revisit again if we visit Saskatoon in a late time.
Finally got around to visiting this popular breakfast spot. WOW, so glad that we did!! The food was amazing, I had an incredible Matcha latte there as well but what blew us away the most...the service! Every staff member was brilliant, welcoming and friendly. They were very busy so we grabbed a spot at the coffee bar. We got chatting with Emmanuelle their barista. She really made our morning. we will be back again soon for sure.
With attentive servers like Brienne, Riversdale’s bustling little diner serves up hearty and flavourful breakfast winners such as excellent lattes and arguably, Saskatoon’s best, eggs Benedict. Awesome to see this place so busy and for good reason. Smart use of seating space throughout.
Recently came here for brunch with a group of friends. We were able to join the wait list online from home so we didn't have to wait at the restaurant or outside. We were told approximately 50minutes we called at 1040am so we planned on being there for 1115am to be safe. We were called at 11am and told we have 10 minutes to get there or our table will be given away. We asked for 15 minutes, and they did accept. Personally, I think they should give everyone 15 minutes since you can get anywhere in Saskatoon in that time frame. Our server greeted us promptly and we ordered 3 lattes and 4 water. The water came within 3 minutes, but the lattes took 10 minutes to arrive. It was busy so, understandable. But seems they might need more coffee machines. All 4 of us ordered eggs Benedict: 2 salmon, 1 Greek, and 1 ham. My friends told me the salmon Benny was delicious, but it was supposed to come with brie cheese, and both lacked it. I had the Greek Benny, and it tasted like seafood. I'm unsure if they accidentally placed the salmon on my bed of spinach comes on the benny first and moved it to the other English muffin, or if something had gone bad, but I can only describe the taste as "fishy" and it was supposed to be vegetarian. The hollandaise was decent, but 3 of 4 people at people at our table said it was way too buttery and fat tasting. The hashbrowns, which resemble smashed potatoes were awesome! Overall, it wasn't my favorite breakfast place. I would probably go back to try something else, but the first impression was mediocre.
Me and my two daughter walked by and stopped in for some food. The waffles and berries were delicious the whip cream was made with real cream! Oh gosh and the chicken and waffles was good! A bit spicy but I really can't eat anything spicy but it was worth the burn. Definitely will come back
I had the Salmon Benedict the salmon was a bit off and the English muffins bread were too hard, trust me I know what it's supposed to be like. I don't normally send anything back but I had to, and so I ordered the scrambler but the chef use the same fishy eggs from the salmon Benedict that I sent back and that spoils the scrambler. the mocha coffee was very good tho and the waiter was nice. Oh, I order medium-soft eggs and I got them hard.
