Had a day off, came in dressed casually, was looking for a new purse/wallet. The sales associate asked if I needed assistance and I mentioned that I was interested in a purse but didn't want a fabric one as the dye on the one I was wearing was faded. She looked disgusted and said "well, that's because it's a Coach". I was so offended and left without buying anything.

Have been here many times over the years b/c there really is no other spot in this city to get certain brands. Service levels are just sad really, doesn't matter if it's new staff or old staff or staff that have been there for 20 years (I first shopped at this location in the late '90s), with the odd exception, they all seem to have their collective nose in the air and just stare at you instead of helping you as you peruse the store. Must be something about the long term staff 'culture' at this location, because I don't experience the same vibe at other locations across Canada.

Undersized and boring luxury department store. In the context of Edmonton shopping, this is a fairly okay source of products that do the job, unless you have exactly one item in mind because it's probably not here. I shop here occasionally, but most people I know in this type of market do their shopping online or on trips to other cities though, because there is such a small variety of stuff here, and really no "excitement" in the retail environment here. In the context of Canadian Holt Renfew experiences, this one is substandard. The Edmonton luxury goods market is being underserved, as I noted, most of the local demand is satisfied either online or visiting other cities. Holts could fill a much larger niche if they would do something bold, but please stay Downtown.

Been shopped at 5 different HR across Canada and this one gave me the worst impression. I'm not sure what's in their mind but instead of helping you out, they stare at you and walk away. I asked for a fitting and the staff went to grab the key at the cashier, paused, chatted with the colleague for a good five minutes before coming back to me. Will never recommend this place.

A zero star is more fitting for the terrible customer service I received yesterday (Boxing Day) at the Burberry counter. I don't understand why at Holt Renfrew the sales associates are allowed to speak in their native tongue in front of customers, I certainly don't appreciate this while I am prepared to spend money at Burberry. Getting service was like pulling teeth, not because of how busy it was, it was actually dead, but it was because I appeared to be an inconvenience to these two sales associates rather than a loyal customer. It was clear that I must have interrupted their personal conversation, perhaps not being their countrymen was the issue. Maybe they should have taken a coffee break instead, such a disservice. However thanks to them, I walked out the door, and spent my money elsewhere.
