I had a wonderful stay there. The whole team of front desk is helpful and they have adapters to borrow for guests. The room has a nice view and nearby there are supermarkets like london drg, wholefood and restaurants. The shower gel and hand wash are dove which are great.nFair price for a nice stay.
I had a great stay at the Holiday Inn in Vancouver. The hotel itself was excellent — quick and friendly service, and the room was very clean and comfortable.nnThe only downside was the restaurant. I ordered pancakes for breakfast, which were supposed to come with strawberries and whipped cream. The strawberries were fresh and tasty, but the whipped cream was missing. Without me asking, the server noticed and came out with a can of whipped cream from the kitchen, shook it, and sprayed it directly onto my pancakes at the table. It was a bit odd and felt unprofessional for a hotel restaurant. In addition, every time we ate there, we felt like the server was trying to rush us out, which made the dining experience less enjoyable.nnOverall, the hotel stay itself was wonderful, but the restaurant service left something to be desired.
I organized an event at this hotel on Saturday, October 4th. Catered banquet for 80 people. Was not cheap. Food and service was fine. But the parking for the event was $38.40 x 80 guests. That's an additional $3072, more than 1/3 the cost of the entire event!!nWe didn't know this until everyone arrived. Put a damper on the event. Be warned you will pay a LOT if you go to this hotel for any event.nUPDATE: I understand the Holiday Inn's response. However if they provide discounted parking to their Hotel guests they could arrange to provide discounted parking to other patrons of their hotel too. If you go here for other reasons than renting a hotel room don't be shocked at the cost of parking.
I love this place. We are here for the week visiting family and we’ve been so comfortable. The room is perfect and the house keeping service is awesome. The folks at the front desk are always helpful. The restaurant is as good as it needs to be, nothing awesome but totally adequate and worth the price. I would definitely come back here.
The only reason I stayed here was to be in a close proximity to VGH. Turns out location is the only redeeming quality of this particular establishment.nnFor what I've paid for 4 days, roughly $400/day, I could have rented a nice Airbnb in the same area for a week.. or stayed at the Pan Pacific.nnWhen you're already charging premium prices to take advantage of people who need/want to be close to VGH, $20 for 2 strips of bacon and 2 small eggs is crazy work.
