This place was maybe "high-end" when it was fresh, but is definitely stale now. I recently stayed for work and, like other recent reviews, also was hollered at by picketers as I entered and exited. That was uncomfortable, but my low rating is due to a whole lot of little things that added up into an overall negative impression. Shampoo and conditioner were clearly used and only half full. Room was too warm and AC only blew warm air, while colleagues in other rooms had the opposite problem and were too cold. When I called to complain, the woman who answered was in the middle of yelling at someone, possibly a child. She said she'd send an engineer and I waited 45 minutes before calling back to cancel because I just wanted to go to bed. On day two, I returned to find that I was not provided with fresh towels or soaps. Plaster ceiling was cracked and crumbling. Carpet in the hall was stained. Furniture was getting worn. I'm sure t was all very nice when new (and probably not too long ago), but it's time to renovate again if they want to bill themselves as high-end. Did not match my impression of Hilton hotels overall.
On the plus side, my bed was clean and comfortable and the staff I interacted with in person were professional.

This place is having some real issues because the staff are experiencing a labor dispute with the owner and they have voted not to strike however they are picketing out front of the building and they pick it the whole day long and they Hoot and Holler. We had to pass a picket line to get in and then the sessions we were there to attend for work we're hard to hear because of all the yelling right outside the windows. I looked outside the window of my room to check out the view and one of the people picketing started waving their arms at me. While I'm sympathetic to their cause, I had to be there for work and had no choice of the hotel where the Conference was held. I had carpooled and my room had already been paid for so I couldn't go somewhere else and they really made the conference memorable in a bad way. Otherwise, it's not a bad place but does need to improve in some areas. Some of my fellow conference coworkers had only one towel in their room when two people were staying, and one person had a dirty towel that had stains and hair in it. I think, that because of the people who are choosing to be out on the picket line instead of working that we had the B-Team employees probably including a lot of Temps. The food at this place was very good for hotel food but the one thing that bothered me, as a tea drinker, that the hot water containers had coffee grounds come out of them as if they had dumped out old coffee and fill it with hot water without even washing it. It's a small thing yet it's not really, as the hot beverage that we choose to drink to wake us up in the morning or the afternoon or the evening is a huge part of one's normal comfort routine and really that's what anyone's looking for when they're staying in a hotel and not at their own home.

I would NEVER stay here again. After checking in heading to my room and going to bed, I was awoken at 5:30 am by the Albany Police Department knocking on my door. They stated that I was committing credit card fraud. After some discussion it became clear that I was not in fact committing credit card fraud and by ID was verified. They apologized and left rather confused.
The next morning as I was checking out I asked a member of the staff about the event and tried to ensure that I had the correct billing information on file. His response: "Oh yea, I heard about that (chuckle)", and yes the correct credit card is on the room.
After some discussions with management via email it became clear that the staff had entered the incorrect rewards number and that a completely different individual was registered, received an email, and called the police in response.
As of this moment, management said there are several people with your name, so staff at the hotel entered the wrong information. But that shouldn't really have mattered since i booked online and entered by rewards number there, but okay; great "hospitality management"
In summation if you have an early morning meeting and want to be awoken by 4 uniformed police officers because of staff error, and offered no redress this is the spot.
It terms of the room:
Negatives:cup stains on countless surfaces, broken door to the cabinet where the fridge was located, tiny bathroom, used mini shampoo bottles in the bathroom draws, hotel window that open all the way (like 4 ft wide) with no screen and a union protest outside complete with megaphones.
Positives: Smart TV where you could use your netflix account, and actual functional iron.

The ambience was nice, but once in the room the paint was peeling and the maintenance and repair was done poorly. At times there was a moldy smell in the elevator waiting area on my floor. Ate at the restaurant and the food was good and sort of made up for the condition of the room. It didn't help that there were union picket lines at the entrance. All in all an OK stay.

Horrible representation of the Hilton brand. Furniture and bathroom surfaces were stained, shower curtain was tattered, toilet barely flushed, towels felt old and crunchy, no "complimentary" water even though it was included in offer, people were protesting from early in the morning until night, no plastic bag in trash cans, by far the cheapest toothbrush I have ever been given by a hotel and bathtub was in poor condition. Definitely will not repeat stay at this hotel.
