I am up here for training and this is my first time staying at this property.nnIt is a beautiful property with very well-kept rooms.nnThe Wolf Rd. location is ideal as there are plenty of quality restaurants within walking distance of the property.
Rooms were okay. Booked a king with sofa bed from the Marriott website. We got there late did mobile key so went straight to room, it was only a king bed. Went to front desk the next day, Front desk said system doesn’t tell them what room you booked? Huh it was their own website. Gold elite member, no acknowledgment. There was a bunch of rooms booked by kids birthday group, so bunch of kids in pools. Indoor pool was freezing. They had a convenient door right by our room but it was an Exit only. Main reason we picked this hotel was for the outdoor pool. Outside sitting had people smoking cigarettes.
Mixed feelings on maintenance of the hotel. The shared spaces were very clean and well kept but rooms could use some work.nnThe hotel lobby and bar area were very open and inviting. The hotel has both an indoor and outdoor pool and a fairly large gym, which would be hard to find in newer hotels. The gym hours were odd, open for 3 hours blocks and then closed for several hours in between.nnThe hotel room was okay. The hotel beds were very comfortable but the room did not feel clean. The shelves were dusty. The ottoman was worn and the drawers were hard to pull out. The lock on our 1st floor patio sliding door was also broken and not repaired.nnThe shower water pressure was good and the shower door sealed properly unlike many some hotels out there. However, cleaning was not thorough. While the shower itself was clean the crevices of shower door hinges were dirty. The toilet seat was not clean at arrival and there was a ring of dust and color around the base of the toilet.nnThe wireless internet was slow. Logging into the wifi was also clunky as complimentary wifi required logging into a Marriott account.nnThe essentials of a good night's sleep and a hot shower were met. For amenities, look beyond your room.
When you think about Marriott, you feel proud and expect great service and comfort. However, I had one of the worst experiences. There was no complimentary water bottle, the room door was not soundproof as I could hear people walking and closing doors loudly all night. The tap water was yellow and not drinkable. The room AC was very loud when turned on. Additionally, there was no complimentary breakfast, which is a service usually offered by many hotels. I usually don't write bad comments, but I wanted to give my honest review. The bed was also not comfortable.
Is it just me, but the maid leaving the toilet seat up is an instant turn off. Also, there was no accessible hdmi port on the tv to plug my Roku into. On the plus side, the bed was comfy and the AC worked great. The highlight was the breakfast buffet. The hostess there was really nice.
