Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

Wow, so glad I stopped in! Ordered the 2 piece white chicken plate, and had a beer on tap + a Memphis Lemonade lemonade+ bourbon. Highly recommend stopping in for a bite! It was very quick service, relatively quiet on an early Sat afternoon. Fast and friendly service + delicious fried chicken. The mac and cheese is unbelievable - you must try it. 10/10

Gus's is a must stop food spot when visiting Chicago. 1st time here and wasn't disappointed. Chicken had a lot of flavor with a nice kick of spices. Chicken was extra crispy without asking for it to be extra crispy, just like I like it. Mac and cheese was extra cheesy with the extra touch of shredded cheese they add. Definitely be back next time in town.

Cute area in Fulton market. Server was friendly. Food came out quite quick. Looked good- tasted ok- the 8 piece chicken. I would say not worth the price. Chicken was crispy and moist but not very flavorful. I got hr catfish meal and that was decent. It came with a slice of bread, fries, coleslaw and 4 pieces of fried catfish at $15usd. We also ordered the fried okra- that was good. Was surprised they didn’t have any fried chicken sandwiches on their menu.

Gus' is a fantastic choice for a quick bite to eat in the Fulton Market area provided that you are carrying your meal out. Their air-fried chicken always strikes the perfect balance of crunchy and moist, and the fries are seasoned to perfection. The only thing preventing me from awarding them a full five stars is the dine-in service. It's obvious that some not all of the women serving have never had any serious experience as waitresses as they violate just about ever cardinal rule that the profession holds dear. Lengthy periods between refills and status checks. A lifetime to settle your bill. Failure to greet incoming customers unless you're a large party with proportionately larger tips. Not a single shred of warmth in interactions. These few leave a lot to be desired.

The people working there are attentive, fast, and responsive. The fries tasted really good and it was crunchy . The chicken wasn't perfect or bad but I guess I am not a big fan of the type of oil used personal preference. What to improve: Adding a slice of pita bread, becuase it is stronger the bread being served.

So the food was good, the chicken is a lil spicy just a heads up but it’s good. I LOVE the fries … Overall I’ll give them a 7.5/10 Will I go back? … probably not

Food was authentic but a little forgettable. Space is in a good area Fulton market very funky. Overall if fried chicken is your thing you’ll love it, but I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to return

My friend invited me here for his 36th bday to start the night of his celebrations. The restaurant has nice clean and cool looking interior with plenty of seating for guest. For a spot in Fulton market area it still kept the classic chIcken joint style with some flair Our server was a nice person with a good sense of humor. She was very attentive to our needs, making sure to take care of us whenever we needed. Our food was served promptly which was good because IT WAS AMAZING!!!! i had the chicken tenders with cole slaw and mac & cheese. The tenders were super juice with a crispy exterior , the honey mustard sauce was a nice touch. The mac & cheese was ok....but it hit spot. Overall good place to check out will definitely go again.

Really good fried green tomatoes and the Mac & chz is the best I have had at a restaurant. Location is in a very nice neighborhood and server was very friendly and attentive.

Delicious chicken! Comes out piping hot and super juicy. The breading is light so the chicken doesn’t feel too greasy at all. Service was quick and for dining in, you just choose a seat for yourself.
