Greens Organic + Natural Market is founded by two UBC alumni who are passionate about promoting a sustainable, healthy and fun lifestyle.

We offer hormone free, sustainable BC meat and seafood, 100% organic produce, a RHN supported Health and Wellness department, a full deli and a wide selection of your favorite grocery essentials and goodies!!

Our store is built with sustainability in mind because we know that is important to you! We are committed to zero-waste, buying local where possible and are completely independent and proudly 100% BC owned and operated.

I used to live and work nearby, so I would go here all the time. Now I stop by infrequently. My favourite part is the butcher. Great cuts of meat and prepared sausages or pieces. Healthier grass-fed beef as well. Prices are a little higher overall than say Safeway, but the quality is great here, especially for fresh food. There's a deli with soups, sandwiches, and beverages. They sell supplements and natural medicinals.

I work near the area so I had enjoyed going to their deli section for their healthy lunches, specifically their soups. I had their Cajun chicken for the past week and it was good. But on Saturday, Aug 12 I had their sausage barley tomato paste and came down with good poisoning shortly after. In fact I started throwing up and having diarrhea after 3 hours. Needless to say it was an unpleasant experience for the next day and a half. So after I recovered on Monday, Aug 14 I went back to Greens and spoke with the same staff who worked the counter (Elena) to let her know what happened. Her reaction was brief, and mostly indifferent. She simply said thank you and did not ask if how I was or offered any consolation or recompense or refund. At the end, I went to speak with the manager who offered me a refund or a free meal the next time. I chose the refund, thanked them, and walked away.

It is a very small and friendly organic grocery store, where shopping becomes fun. The staff is super friendly and they offer great local products including the chocolate bars in the picture #thegoodchocolatier. I come for those ones and fresh produce mostly :)
