A combination of quality equipment, diverse class offerings, spacious & naturally lit upper floor, and friendly staff make this the best gym in Kingston. Note the sign indicating that doing curls while occupying the squat rack is an irritating inconvenience for actual lifters - if only more places had these! Particular thanks to Jill who remained patient and helpful while dealing with technical issues at the sign-in desk. This location is also back to full 24/7 availability now that pandemic restrictions are being lifted again not including the usual stat holidays. Overall 10/10 would recommend to fitness beginners and gym rats alike
One of the nicest gyms around. The equipment are top notch, members are respectful and staff are friendly. I've been to other Goodlife's around any most have a cold atmosphere...But not in Kingston
Andrew the handsome nice gentleman was very polite and welcoming when I came in. I had told Andrew I was down for the day in Kingston looking for a place to workout as I may be moving to Kingston to train the military and was looking for a gym to have some privacy away from my usual setting on base. He demonstrated excellent customer service and I will be back to enjoy my pumps at GoodLife :
Great gym! The only thing I have to say is I’ve found an increasing amount people leaving the equipment they were using without unracking their weights which makes it look like someone is using it when they’re not, and not wiping off their equipment after use. I think there should be some sort of gym etiquette lesson when giving gym tours to newcomers, or something of the like.
I've been a member for 15 plus years at this location. The gym etiquette here is continually getting worse. Members not putting weights away, Not wiping down their equipment after done with it and dropping of weights. It's a great gym, with some great staff, but the policing of members not following the basic decency/rules shouldn't be the responsibility of members to remind/enforce these simple things. Hopefully this will motivate this gym to get back to the way it use to be Thankyou for taking the time to read this
I want to cancel my membership, but I can’t, because I need to give them 30 day notice. I have to pay for another 2 weeks in order to quit… it’s a scam for me. If I don’t pay they will destroy my credit score. They don’t have any reason to do it. I don’t recommend GoodLife and doesn’t matter what location, their contract is designed to scam people. In addition, they have bugs in a shower that no one cleans. And on my last visit someone stole my water bottle.
I was a member for 18 months at this location. It started out really good. I got to know the staff. Linda, Sara, Mel and Brodie. I loved coming to the gym, doing my own thing, minding my own until one afternoon last month an employee Nicholas disrupted my workout centered me out and said the Olympic weight bar I was using while doing my exercise stiff-legged deadlifts I bent it. I performed this exercise for over twenty years and no problem. No one ever bothered me and certainly I can’t bend a 800-1000lb bar. My Max 1 rep was 315lbs. An small argument insured and then I asked to speak to Brodie the manager on the floor and than sent a message to Nate GM explaining what happened. It took a while to get a response. The GM Nate Thompson never replied to my email. I spoke to the fitness Manager Tanya. She was helpful although never really understood fully what happened. She did her best. I left early that day and than went to cancel my membership because I was upset about this incident that never should have happened. I was targeted because I was different. I continued, until my membership ran out and than decided to stay longer and then Nate the GM informed me I had to enroll again as per head office policy. I decide not to go back. GoodLife lost a good member. I hope this will never happen to anyone again. I will seek the advice of counsel as this incident falls under the category of bullying and harassment. I will never enroll in a GoodLife again. And a little advice to GoodLife please treat members a little better especially older ones with a great deal of knowledge and experience and maybe have a staff member monitor the gym for cleanliness. The staff do what they can especially Adam, Linda, Sara. I say this because rarely the younger adults don’t clean the equipment and that one employee Nicholas please ask him to wash his hands after the washroom and his exercise. This is 2022. Good luck all. Thanks for reading. Stay fit and go to wherever it takes you. MW
The new management team Nate and Brodie have transformed the gym over the last 6 months. Staff are happy, friendly and the gym is spotless. Cleaning is too notch. Looking forward to see what other positive changes they bring.
Great facility & staff!!!....but stop the members texting while on the exercise equipment!!....they tie up the machines way to long!!
