Fresh ingredients, attentive service, and good portion for what you pay. I'd say expect to spend ~$32-45 /person by getting the combo, which gets you soup base, your choice of protein, rice or noodle, unlimited drinks, and veggies/tofu/fish balls for your hotpot. You can add-on more items to it, but I got the 7oz blade steak combo with signature spicy soup base and I was so full I couldn't even finish the rest of the veggie plate. This place can get real busy though. We arrived at 7PM on a Saturday night and had to wait for an hour to get in. So arrive early, put your name down, and walk around. They'll text you when your table is ready. People really take their time eating here so it's a pretty slow turn-around. If you can't decide which soup base to pick, look for the crown symbol. Those are the most popular ones : And you can specify the level of spiciness, too. I like to go with wintermelon juice for my drink option since it's refreshing without being too heavy like milk tea, so it doesn't fill me up even more but helps to cut down the spiciness. At least for me, drinking anything like milk tea is too filling. If you're soup base evaporated too quickly, they can top it up with more soup. All and all, I'll definitely come back again.
My bestie and I love this place. This time we came right at open 5pm and got the happy hour deal! And didn’t have to wait, they always refilled our drinks and soup without even having to ask. Amazing service and food! Such a perfect meal on a cold day! Our go to hotpot place : Thanks again to all the great staff!Recommended dishesChicken Soup, sukiyaki soup
Best service and really good food! The Laksa and Curry are amazing, and the combo is really worth it. Love the new location that they moved to, everything is clean and new. Went during happy hour, unlimited drinks! Winter melon tea unlimited was amazing!
Gokudo has to be one of my favourite hotpot restaurants. They have the freshest high quality ingredients ranging from beef, pork and seafood. They have combos that’s very convenient. You will never leave this restaurant feeling hungry. The staff are very kind and courteous. Make sure to call ahead and ask about wait times as they can get very busy during peak hours.
Just had seriously one of the best meals ever here. I live in the area and have been wanting to try this place for a while but it's super popular so usually lined up out the door with over an hour wait. We went today a Sunday at about 4 and luckily got in no problem between their rushes. We all got the combo but with different broths and meat combos. All of us enjoyed it so much and left absolutely stuffed. Tons of food. Great value. Amazing and attentive service. The servers checked in a ton and took their time explaining the menu and made sure we had enough broth/sauce continually. Amazing. Will definitely be back!
Awesome experience here! I came by myself and it is definitely set up to accommodate solo visitors. Staff was so friendly and explained everything to me very well. The set is a great deal, with a wide variety of items included, definitely enough to feel full after. Dessert and drink being included is a lovely touch, and I am overall very happy with my dining experience. I will definitely come back in the future.
The food and service here is amazing : I come here pretty often, its my go-to spot for hotpot! I always get the fatty short plate slice combo with the 2 kinds soup base, and sometimes I also get the shrimp dumplings. Everything tastes fresh and the sauce is bomb. The servers are always attentive no matter how busy it is and they are super kind! The new location is excellent, its probably about 3x the size as the old location which means less wait time and I’m glad you can now join the waitlist online remotely instead of only in person.
Always very busy for dinner but less busy for happy hour from 9-10PM close. Increased their menu prices the last time I went back but now the price includes soup, drink, and carb choice before it was add $5. I always get the chicken broth instead of adding money for a different soup base because it tastes good and you are boiling your protein choice anyway. Recommend getting only 7oz because it is quite large and you do not want to waste it at this price. I prefer the winter melon tea as my drink but the milk tea is also good. It tastes like Hong Kong milk tea. I do not recommend the fish even though it was presented very nicely. Maybe I overcooked it but it was not very smooth when eating. I tried cooking it for less time but then it had a fishy taste. Everything else is good and I always get very full. Make sure you ask for a punch card when you pay so you get $20 off when you fill up your card. You cannot stack the $20 off with the 10% off during happy hour.
Definitely my wife and I favourite hotpot place in Burnaby. The customer service rated 10/10, definitely worth giving them good tips. The meat and veggies are freshly prepared and they taste delicious especially when they’re dipped in the sauce after they come out freshly cooked from the broth of your choice. It’s hard to go back to sharing hotpot with other people, once you have experience this. Love the spacious environment and decor. Can’t wait to try their new location early next year.
Price has been increased more than 30%, it's getting real expensive. Food still taste good and services are great, just won't be coming as often now. Edit: To add some examples to my review, I'm pretty sure most customers order combos. So a Rib eye 7oz combo that used to cost $15.95, is now $24. The Prime rib 7oz combo that used to cost $24.95, is now $33, not sure how that is 10 - 20% increase.
