Food is okay, not expensive, not cheap either for the quality and quantity. The sukiyaki is just a soy sauce pot, while the authentic sukiyaki is like barbecue beef with Japanese soy sauce, then you use that as the base of a hot pot. Food quality is just okay, average. That said, it’s a bit overpriced. Staff is super friendly and helpful, the gentleman even bent down while we are ordering, it’s really a great demonstration to show the attitude to provide top of the line service. That’s something you don’t always get from a restaurant like this. I will comeback after it’s over the hype for a casual dinner, however I wouldn’t say it’s easy for me to recommend especially when the wait time is around an hour or so for now.
Newish hot pot location opened across from Metrotown that conspicuously looks and feels like Gokudo right down to the menu. Interior had a feel like nearby Northern BBQ with plenty of neon-like lights. Tried the boneless short rib $22 5oz and assorted seafood $24. You can pick the free chicken pork soup or one of their premium broths like the sukiyaki. The free soup is good and probably your best bet. Portion size was just the right amount of food. Sauce bar is a bit sparse but covers the main items. Like how they have milk tea as an option for your combo not sure why Gokudo took it off their menu. You get some basic vanilla ice cream cones are the end. Service was a bit all over the place. Perhaps they're still working things out. Busy during dinner rush so best to go off peak hours.
Kind staff, good quality and clean space. I ordered the sukiyaki soup and fatty short plate slice combo. It was really nice, but the only thing I felt unfortunate about was that the soup was a little too sweet for me. However, there are still lots of soup options I can choose from! I would like to try a different soup next time :
I recently dined at Pot Empire for the first time, and it was absolutely amazing! The broth was flavorful and savory, and the meats and vegetables were all fresh and delicious. The service was also top-notch - the staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making for a perfect dining experience. I highly recommend Pot Empire to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic hot pot experience. Five stars!
Taiwanese style shabu-shabu runs by Chinese. Portion was good which was averaged about 18-30$ per combo. Soup base was amazing. You also get soup and sauce refill. One more star to be earned was about waiting to be seated. Estimate time was a bit inaccurate. We were told to be seated in an hour but turned out to be an hour and half. Plus another half hour of waiting for food. However, overall it was a positive dining experience. I do expect them to keep growing
When I first tasted Xiding hot pot, I was absolutely blown away by its deliciousness! Both the broth and the various meats and vegetables were incredibly fresh, making me feel like I was enjoying a home-cooked meal. In addition, the waitstaff were extremely friendly and attentive, providing professional menu recommendations and explanations of the hot pot, which helped me to better understand and appreciate this cuisine. The restaurant's atmosphere is very comfortable and has a pleasant ambiance. Overall, Xiding hot pot is one of my top choices for enjoying food and experiencing life, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to taste authentic hot pot
Lots of veggies, soup was good and not too salty. Staff were great and attentive even though it was busy at the time. Hope they keep the make your own sauce bar and add peanut butter and ginger optionFood: 4/5
Pot Empire is a good spot for chill late-night cravings. Visited on a Monday night at 9:30 and was seated right away. The inside is spacious and has plenty of tables. The combo comes with a soup base that you can upgrade for a fee and you choose what type of meat or seafood you want. It also comes with a drink, rice/vermicelli/noodles, veggies + some add ons and even a free side dish of edamame. Didn't get any dipping sauce so wasn't sure if I had to ask for it. At the end they give you vanilla ice cream as well.
I had a wonderful experience here. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. I particularly enjoyed the pork bone chicken soup pot, which was cooked to perfection, and the sides were flavorful and well-seasoned. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience
We went for an early dinner and there was no wait time. The staff were friendly and explained the menu to us since it was our first time there. Very good value for the amount of food, as you get a drink, a carb, and icecream included. Tables are nicely distanced and very clean.
