You can’t imagine how good the service can be at a hot pot restaurant! I’m so glad I can still find such wonderful service quality in the Greater Vancouver area! My friends and I didn’t know what to expect, but the server very thoroughly explained how the menu worked. It’s individual hot pot. We choose the house chicken soup broth or from the list of other broths extra charge, from one of many combos choices meat and vegetarian, from one of two cold drinks milk tea or green tea and from two flavours of Chapman’s ice-cream served in a small paper cup with a tabbed lid like when we were kids. It was so filling and satisfying. I probably won’t choose the pork bacon combo next time, but I’ll be back when I need to indulge in yummy hot pot again. BTW, free parking is a few blocks away so be prepared. It’s across from Crystal Mall so that could be an option if you do some shopping there beforehand.

Cool autumn nights calls for shabu shabu! Enjoyed my time at gokudo, from the food to the atmosphere. The staff was really friendly, came on a Thursday night and it was busy but not too busy. Usually you need your whole party there when they seat you but they let me in anyway! So nice of them I really liked their combo menu which come with a drink and dessert. Not something I have all the time but it really did make the meal feel complete. The milk tea was very nice, almost had a floral taste to it - that was the drink of the day. I think this may rotate? The broth options were so fun to choose from! I had the sukiyaki base and it was really flavorful. Each person got their own hot pot that you can also control the temperature for. With the soup base you also choose a meat or veggie platter to cook in addition to the base set veggies, tofu, etc. and your choice of noodles or rice. Seriously accommodating to everyone including vegetarians and vegans. Vegetarian options: A vegan option was available on the menu which was really great to see even though I’m neither vegetarian or vegan. You can also order additional vegetables on the side.

This place is a shabu shabu that you order a fixed amount and gives a pot per person. The combos they have are pretty good. It comes with a preset amount of veggies and then you can choose your protein. The combos also comes with your choice of noodles, ice cream and a drink. The food is good, you can cook and eat at your own pace. The drink of the day milk tea seemed like instant tea though. There is a long wait for this restaurant so I recommend joining a wait list on Yelp beforehand.

Clean shabu shabu restaurant was a waiting system in place where you can check in with your phone number and get a message once your table is available. For the menu, you get to choose a soup base and a meat type. It comes with a drink and we got the lychee green tea sweetened version, there was also an unsweetened version. The veggies, tofu, and shrimp are inclusive. There is mushroom stock for those who are vegetarian. However, the default is chicken soup. All other flavours other than mushroom soup base cost extra. The meats had both small and large portions and different types of animals chicken, beef, pork, and lamb. There are even balls and an oden set. The chicken soup is a bit flavourless so I would opt for another soup base if you want more flavour. There was also only one type of sauce available and it had shrimp, so beware if you’re allergic to shellfish. The meal ended with a small container of Chapman ice cream vanilla or strawberry. Overall it was good value as we were stuffed by the end of it. Payment is either one person pays for the full table or the bill is split equally among your group. Fresh food, excellent service, nice atmosphere with clean and comfortable seats. It's definitely the best hot pot place We've been to in North America. Plenty of delicious soup bases to choose from. The ones that we tried and would recommend are Thai Style, Signature Spicy, Chinese Herbal, and Korei Kimchi soup bases. Superb sauces to go with them. Meat really depends on what people prefer, but the ones we tried never disappoint us. The portion of a combo set was big enough that we wetr always too full for any add on. It's perfect to finish a hot pot meal with some ice cream. The only personal complaint is they don't always have milk tea anymore.

First time at the new location. We went for lunch and it wasn’t busy unlike the evenings. Kudos to the staff, refilling our soups, bringing extra sauces, clearing our dishes, overall a great job. There’s plenty of food, I never feel hungry after I’m done. Worth the $$.Food: 4/5

Awesome experience here! I came by myself and it is definitely set up to accommodate solo visitors. Staff was so friendly and explained everything to me very well. The set is a great deal, with a wide variety of items included, definitely enough to feel full after. Dessert and drink being included is a lovely touch, and I am overall very happy with my dining experience. I will definitely come back in the future.
