If you know about Taiwanese Hot pot culture, you might love it!! This is the first hot pot store that I would love to visit again soon!! The vegetables and meats are fresh, also the soup is so good!! It makes me homesick for sure, haha. And the store is clean and comfortable, so good to have lunch here!! By the way, the black tea is 100% like Taiwan's black tea, super love it!!!!!!!!!!!! Must drink!!!! There are parking lots beside the road and behind the store.
On a rainy and cold day, having hot pot is definitely the food of choice for me, and Boiling Point is always on the top of my list. There are many different broths/soup bases to choose from, with different proteins. I like Curry Hot Pot and Seafood & Tofu Pot. Each hot pot also comes with a free tea drink. The portion is large enough for one person. All ingredients tasted fresh and the price was quite reasonable. I always come early to avoid the line up. I recommend this to anybody that likes hot pot. P.S. tonight we came back for dinner , unfortunately the rice tasted terrible. I hope the owner can do something about this .
Wow! Came in last year for the first time - both food and service weren’t good. Food was average and servers just didn’t care about us / customers in general. Came back in today after approx a year and it was a totally different experience. Though the portion seems smaller, it tastes pretty good. We ordered the Korean bean paste and beef ones and enjoyed both. 3 sauces coming on the side were also good. I can also see that they have reduced the amount of plastic use which is amazing. Service tonight was pretty good. From host to server and cashier, I’m happy with your service. This is the only restaurant I’ve been to that actually scans my QR code vaccine passport. Food came out quick and servers checked on us a couple times to make sure we are ok having the fire on. Overall a satisfying dining experience. Will come back for sure
The atmosphere is packed and busy, but that just adds to the fun and lively experience. The broth selection is impressive and the add-on options are fresh and delicious. I was also impressed with the sauce selection available at the table, which allowed me to customize my dipping sauces to my liking. My partner particularly enjoyed the food, as it reminded her of what she would eat as a kid. The staff is friendly and attentive, despite the busy atmosphere. Overall, Boiling Point is a great spot for a fun and tasty hot pot meal.
Went on a Friday evening for an early dinner. We did not make a reservation, but there were a couple tables available so we were seated right away near the front entrance. Our entire party was not present at the time of seating, but they still gave us a table. The server quickly brought water and extra table settings and waited for the rest of our party to arrive before asking for our order. The menu is available via QR code at each table. The menu is quite extensive and there are a number of choices available for different preferences. With each hot pot, you can also customize the spice level and whether you get rice or vermicelli noodles. Orders were taken quickly and the food came out shortly after. The server provided some extra bowls, but not enough for the table. Perhaps due to the location of the table, it was difficult to catch the attention of a server, so getting extra bowls or water was not as easy. Servers were prompt to help once you got their attention, and provided what we needed. Boiling Point also provides free sauces at each table, which you can mix in your own dish to eat with. Two people shared a hot pot and it was enough food to fill both people. Staff did not rush us out after we finished our meal and we were told to pay at the cash register. Note that they do not split bills, so one person must pay for the entire table. Would recommend for a casual meal, although there will likely be a wait closer to dinnertime. The noise level is also noticeable, although it does not require you to raise your voice to be heard at the table. Parking: There is a small parking lot behind just off Kingsway, although no guarantee that there is parking. There is street parking further south of Kingsway, mostly paid parking until 8pm.
No reservations, they have a reservation kiosk inside. Went for lunch, there was about a 20 minute wait. The cleaning agent for the tables was very strong almost overpowering the soup aromas. Service is fast. Had the seafood and tofu. Friends had the beef and lam. Zero complaints. Hot pot at BP is delicious as always.
We decided to spontaneously try a new restaurant for dinner and Boiling Point did not disappoint! We ordered the Miso Hot Pot and Beff Hot Pot and both enjoyed the our meals. The ingredients were fresh, and filling. We both like spicy food and chose medium spice level; It was much hotter than we expected, but still delicious. We also ordered a Hokkaido Milk Tea since they had a free topping promo and it was delicious! Great dinner option for a night where you need to warm up. Vegetarian options: I didn't order it personally but there is a vegetarian hot pot option.
The food wasn't bad but they mixed up the spice level of the soup for my wife and I. The vermicelli that came along the soup was basically raw. I'd give them another chance but the competition out there in this segment is pretty tough that getting it right the first time matters a lot. Maybe will visit in future but not anytime soon.
Great bang for your buck. Lunch comes with rice/noodle and a free green or black iced tea upsize it for $1 and rings up under $20 which is hard to find nowadays for a satisfying meal. It's delicious, good sized portions, and the sauces on the table are *chefs kiss* There's AC inside too so don't be scared to come in on a hot day. Service is efficient but you might have to flag someone down to put in your order or to get the cheque. Pictured: lamb hot pot lunch combo
A few of us came here for lunch on a hot day. It’s better to have a piping mini hot pot dish when it’s cold outside. They serve a variety of hot soups with additional add-on dishes to choose from. Included with the price of your meal, you receive an icy cup of green or black tea and a choice of rice or vermicelli with your dish. You can also choose from 5 types of sauces to accompany your dish. If you like seafood, try the seafood and tofu mini hot soup it’s my favourite. The others had the Thai Tomato and Taiwanese Spicy. Checkout their menu for some new items. They are currently offering 10% off for first time online orders. There are a few Boiling Points around town – Burnaby, Vancouver, & Surrey. They are open everyday and each location has different operating hours. You can dine-in, have delivery or do takeout. It’s a great way to satisfy everyone’s different palates. If you like really hot & spicy food, you’ll love this place!
