Story

The Blue Fox Cafe is a funky downtown West Coast eclectic, serving fresh homemade style food to a loyal, local clientele for over 20 years.
Perennial favourites include eggs benedict, (10 different types), reportedly the best in the city, Moroccan chicken quesadillas, giant homemade veggie burgers and beef burgers!! Emphasis is placed on fresh local products. Coffee is organic. Breakfast is served all day with great music, good value and good cheer!!

Reservations (and interventions!!) are welcome Monday through Friday for lunch at 12 & 1pm.
AM reservations are taken for parties of 6 or more Monday through Friday.
Weekends, Survival of the Fittest!!

The Early Bird Breakfast Special
2 local eggs, seasoned pan fried potatoes, hot buttered toast and house made fresh fruit jam- $5.95
Add bacon or 2 locally made pure pork sausages-$1.00

There is usually 60 minutes waiting at brunch time. It's customary for such a famous place to value its customers and allow reservations rather than staying in line.nnIf you stay in line for about an hour for such a highly rated place, you would have higher expectations from food and service as well. I tried two dishes and none was any different from brunch franchises that are accessible within 20 minutes walk.nnI did not see what other reviewers saw in this place. But I would not spend hours in a place with just OK food if I knew about quality before.
I went to brunch with friends. The line was very long and moved very slowly, I guess that's an indicator that the place is good. I was very hungry and waiting so long wasn't very pleasant, but it was worth it. The service was fast and the food was really delicious. The hollandaise sauce was amazing.
breakfast was yummy but maybe not worth the price. Hollandaise isn’t necessarily what I wanted it to be. The spicy coffee was very yummy though and so was their home made jam!
Foods great, being racially profiled twice by the waitress? Not so great.nI went in with my friend and we lined up for an hour with the occasional waitress coming by and asking us for our group numbers. Without a thought she lumped us in with some Chinese folks in front of us and some Japanese girls behind us as one big group. The second time was when we were finally about to be seated, the same waitress seated the people behind us as she again assumed we were one giant group. Very disappointed.
A wonderful breakfast/brunch spot, come early as the lineup can be a challenge especially on weekends. A great menu with a ton of options, The eggs benny are a safe bet but the Moroccan chicken sandwich was unique as well. Huge portions all around. Only downside was my window seating…not the restaurants fault but the line up makes you feel like you’re in a fish bowl with good folks checking out your plate to see what’s available. Anyway, I’ll be back for sure. A great breakfast staple for Vic.
