El Asador

I’ve been a frequent customer of El Asador for the past few years and have never been disappointed. I usually go for the ‘Midnight Special’ but went with a few friends this time & mixed it up. We got the lamb burrito ranchero, shrimp tacos, the bhoona chicken curry, and lentil soup. The food is fresh, flavourful & very satisfying, and the owner José is wonderful! Definitely one of my favourite places to eat in Kingston, highly recommend!!!

I came here believing it truly was going to be a 5/5 in terms of taste. Not at all. Having been to many taco places that are highly rated in Toronto, the tacos and burritos here are extremely bland and was nothing special. Basically tasted like old el paso.

Got the beef taco yesterday. Beef was over cooked and not seasoned. Not even salt in the taco. It came with 2. I was starving and ate the first one but through away this one. It was that bad. The review said best taco in Kingston. I'm from out of town so I dont know if thats true. I hope not because if this is what kingston's best is then it's really sad. But definetly won't be going back. Also the corn tortillas are super dry and having two of them for 1 taco is pointless. Its equivalent to eating a popeyes biscuit without a drink. I'm thinking most of the reviews are from locals who havnt tasted anything better. So they dont have anything to compare this restaurant too. However his customer service is good. Seems like a nice guy.

Fresh and SO flavourful. This is a place we keep coming back to. The lamb burrito is INCREDIBLE. The man that’s always working is so nice and friendly. Everyone should give El Asador a try, you will not be disappointed! Best Mexican food in Kingston, hands down. So much better than chain restaurant options, order from here instead!

Been coming to El Asador for their amazing burritos for over 6 years. Never disappoints. José always remembers me when I come in and double checks if I still want my regular order of a spicy midnight special made vegan. His Indian food is also fantastic he used to cook at a number for Kingstons Indian restraunts. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good inexpensive burrito in Kingston. Would also recommend if you are vegan, just ask José what to get and he'll sort you out.

My friend and I decided to try this out after reading all the amazing reviews and this place did not dissapoint! Chicken fajita was absolutely delicious, lots of spice and fresh ingredients. The soups are amazing and made to order, not just warmed up in a microwave. My friend had the Midnight Special and it was unreal as well! Don't let the look of the place deceive you. We will definitely be regulars now and recommend it to every one we know!

Hands down my favourite place in Kingston. He has the best burritos, tacos, and curries you’ll find. The food is properly made and authentic. I’ve been a frequent customer for the past 4 years and this place just keeps getting better! If you haven’t been to El Asador, you need to start going now.

It's a very small place and it seemed more like a take out place the atmosphere is not exactly depicts a sit down place. Food was good. I had the lamb burrito and the meat was very flavorful. The rice accompanying was less but overall a great filling meal. The house special curry was too sweet in my opinion.

I was looking for Indian food and being on a budget I thought I would try this place out. I wasn't disappointed. I had the Lamb bhoona curry on rice, so good, a little spicy made to order and hot and steamy. The owner is nice and talkative making me feel comfortable. He told me a bit about his restaurant experience and the best places in town to buy Indian spices Asian market. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town!

Jose is one of the kindest, bestest business owners in this city. Firstly, his burritos are authentic and tasty as hell. As a vegan, getting decent options is hard but his midnight special is just so delicious. No joke, we eat here at least 3 times a week. He always remembers our order. Anyone that is saying this food is expensive doesn't know what they are talking about. You seriously can't get a better deal. We love El Asador!
