Had α fantastic meal here last month. I ordered the mussels and husband had α fish platter. Both dishes were cooked very well and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered α cocktail which was also well made. The restaurant was fully booked but that did not impact the service. The servers were polite and friendly and we did not have to wait for long to receive drinks and food. I would recommend booking on α weekend evening.
We had an incredible family meal here with such great service. The waiter was so nice and couldn’t fault the bubbly, attentive service. The food was also incredible and will definitely be coming back. Huge compliments to the establishment for a lovely meal!
We Ordered a haddock and smoked haddock supper, amazing and the best fish we have eaten in a long time, as good or better than the Oregon Smoke House, in USA, or Doyle's in Sydney harbour, AUS. The prawns were also very delicious, XL and juicy, the beer batter had great flavour. Would give 5 stars, but the twice cooking in the chips was not evident, they were only average. Would definitely return and hope that we do!
Taking fish and chips to the next level! My prayers to the gluten free gods have been answered and I've found a GLUTEN FREE FISH SUPPER! I'm delighted. It's a smart establishment with parking just outside. It's disabled friendly with step free wheelchair access. It's been a long time since I had a fish and chips where the fish fills the box, and I'm happy to report that the fish did here. The gluten free batter was light and crisp. I'm definitely going back!
The takeaway was closed at 3:30pm Sunday so I ordered in the restaurant next door. The service was very prompt and friendly but when you said "Ten pounds please sir" that's what I expected to be charged, not £10.30. Card payment surcharges have been unlawful since January 2018. I was obliged to wait outside. The fish supper while it looked great and had good texture was tainted by having been cooked in old oil. Disappointing for a multiple award winning chippy.
The foods are super! Came here for their fish and chips. Turned out every dish we ordered was amazing. And their price is reasonable comparing to other fancy restaurants serving so-so quality foods. Will come back again. Especially want to try their mussel Wednesday or oyster happy hour!!
I ate dinner here some minutes ago, but from now on I missed the taste of these dishes. Amaaaaaazing!!! I love East Coast restaurant. I never forget here. Thanks a lot!
Oh dear!! The staff were absolutely lovely but....the burger was bland and tasteless & the chips were as bad as McDonalds, warm and floppy. At £17 for burger & chips, id expect better. The salmon was slightly undercooked. Id say overpriced for what you get
Had a lovely meal at East Coast, possibly the best Fish and Chips that I've had in house for some time, the batter was near to perfect, crisp and dry at a perfect thickness, housing a superbly fresh piece of haddock inside. Portion size was definitely not to be sniffed at either. This followed a selection of the starters on offer, winner for us was the 'simple' scallops with sage butter which were amazing, we had to mop up the butter with some extra bread as leaving anything in the skillet would have been a crime. Prices were acceptable, customer service was spot on. Kid-friendliness: High chair available and room for a baby in a pram, they were very accomodating and provided a good size table.
Recommend reservations, but it wasn't a long wait to seat me. Oysters were as good as I've ever had. Service was attentive, energetic, and I presume it was the manager who greeted everyone on arrival... Definitely a locals place..... And this was early January, I can't imagine how busy they are in the Summer! Kid-friendliness: Several tables had families, one of them were playing cards as they waited, not so much how long it took but it appeared to be their routine. Parking: Payment meters are located everywhere, put the receipt on your dash.
