This place is the bomb! No over exaggeration.nThere is something here for everyone and anyone.nnMy dance background is ballet. Dabbling in hiphop, jazz and lyrical. But I was never really meticulous with my dance. I’d say I have average skill. I really danced for the exercise, to improve my posture, have some discipline, and because I love to move to music. I eventually felt like I didn’t fit in with the other dancers at the studios I went to because they seemed so serious and I was a big goof. I quit dance in high school to do cheerleading. As a young adult I would go to the club 2-3 times a week so I could groove and dance with my friends.nnFlash forward 10+ years. Going to the club to dance feels super weird and definitely not my scene anymore and with my busy life style I didn’t think I could commit to a program at a dance studio. Plus I couldn’t choose which style of dance I wanted to do. My brother actually found DropinDance and suggested I could join with low commitment, and try a variety of styles.nI procrastinated going for so long. He even brought me to one of their showcases last year and I was mesmerized by it.nnThe talent, the fun, the creativity, and a community that I was just itching to be apart of. I eventually started going to Dropin classes last October. Starting with Heels class, which was something new that I wanted to try. Very empowering class I have to say! I love it so much.nnThe flexibility in their scheduling, the different styles you can explore, the individuals that make you feel welcome, the banging music choices honestly a HUGE factor for me is dancing to music that I can vibe with and the teachers always knock this one out of the park.nnNo dance experience to advance experience and everything in between, they gotcha covered!nnThis place lifts me up and I look forward to dancing every week.nBest workout for your body and your mind.

What a beautiful clean studio. I took my toddler to a drop in class and she LOVED it. I loved the flexibility to pay for what we are using and try it out before committing to a full season. The staff was all so kind and helpful, I Highly recommend.

I love dancing and this place is one of the best in the city to learn different styles of dance or rent a studio for dance classes. I love the atmosphere there, the people are very friendly and in all the dance classes you can make friends or have fun there. I'm happy there is a place like this in Winnipeg! Highly recommend visiting it once and then you will love it forever

Was not impressed with my experience at this studio during drop in classes or the Ballet series I signed up for.nnThe drop in class heels was extremely crowded to the point where my friend and I spent more time dodging getting kicked and smacked accidentally by other dancers than actually dancing. Other dancers started recording videos of themselves during class with others who didn’t consent to be in their videos in the background, which was very uncomfortable. Recording in studio should not be permitted unless it’s staff recording other staff when the studio is empty, or patrons using the studio during private rentals. The staff do ask for consent during group sessions, but few people want to be the killjoy saying not to record when so many others seem to love being recorded so they can post all over social media. nnMy series experience was equally disappointing. Again, the class size was huge and it was often difficult to hear and see the instructor. The series was advertised as an introductory level Ballet suitable for people with no experience, but that was definitely not the case as the class was way too fast paced. Most of the dancers in the class seemed to have a lot of previous experience dancing and the few of us who didn’t were left straggling behind. I actually emailed the owner with my concerns who acknowledged I wasn’t the only student with this feedback, but I was refused a refund even though I only attended one class and instead just given the option to convert my series to drop in classes. I told her about my poor drop in experience and asked if I could try a different series in the future as maybe Ballet/that instructor just wasn’t the right fit for me and was also told no. I spent $180 on the series…nnI get marketing emails from them to this day. I see they’re having a fundraising social and asking for donations to fund their renovations. I have never heard of a for profit business soliciting donations and find it very tacky. Will never go here again.

I am not one to post public reviews but felt compelled as I have been with drop in since 2018. Drop in has been a wonderful space to return to dance as an adult and explore new styles as a beginner. The policies and prices are very fair, flexible and standard.nIf you are new to dance and are unsure about trying out a class or style I encourage you to reach out to the teacher! Drop in always posts class instructors and I find they are very responsive on Instagram. The instructors are so very kind, supportive and experienced and have been very open to providing me with guidance and recommendations. Drop in truly in a space where dance is a community.
