my favourite Chinese dessert shop, in the summer you must come to try their mango sago. today we ordered the peanut tang yuan, which was excellent. Perfectly chewy, not too sweet, the sesame paste was just right. Definitely recommend. The almond paste and the grass jelly are also notable mentions! Will continue to comeback!
Ordered the walnut sweet soup, boiled milk and ginger, and glutinous rice balls with peanuts. Walnut sweet soup - 4/5 good walnut taste, not hot enough Boiled milk and ginger - 3/5 strong ginger taste but no sweetness at all. Got bitter near the end Glutinous balls - 4/5 basic. Can't go wrong
I have visited this establishment before, during and "after" the pandemic, it still remains as one of my favourite places for dessert. The taste is good, not so sweet but the ingredients are fresh. The portion is relatively fine, given the current state of inflation and price. This establishment also offers herbal tea which is surprising.
Traditional Chinese dessert restaurant in the Scarborough area for over 20 years. Some of the items are very popular and will be sold out early but you can try other items which are also quite good, almost no bad choices. Guys it’s extremely difficult for small local businesses during Covid, so pls be patient when it’s packed and you can try to visit earlier! There will be less people in the afternoon from 3-7pm.
The three desserts I had were not great. I've had much better sago fruit desserts. The cantaloupe and watermelon on top were not sweet because they aren't in season. And the mixed fruit one had canned pineapple which I find gross. Other chinese dessert restaurants I've been to switch out their fruit for this reason. And they don't use canned fruit. The hot sesame dumpling soup was pretty good but the ginger liquid was too gingery for my taste; I ended up coughing with the first spoonful. I'd recommend going to Tracy Dessert at First Markham Place.
Enjoyable traditional Chinese desserts but nothing special. Pricing is on the pricey side I felt like and desserts were just on the mediocre side, nothing really stood out. This place is a smaller location too so be prepared for a bit of wait time during the busier times. The watermelon for the one dessert ordered didn’t taste fresh and was room temperature. For 3 desserts our total came up to be $22.59.
2022.11 they may not be the best but base on food quality, price, services. I can’t complain abt it - Double skin is silken - Phoenix milk is sticky very strong egg taste - Ginger milk very ginger, not everyone will like it - Black sesame paste is also silken
This place is always packed! Be prepared to wait, but the tables move quick. They ran out of the steamed egg with Milk, so ended up getting the boiled egg with milk, country style & the walnut sweet soup.
This is a small spot in a busy plaza serving traditional Chinese desserts. I used to come here quite frequently for late night dessert but it’s been a while since I’ve been. I stopped by today and they are still super busy. Luckily, I got there just in time and snagged the last available table before a line started to form. This spot isn’t very large so can get quite noisy and cozy and the tables are round with stool seats. Service is average and menu is in English & Chinese. The desserts are okay, nothing out of the world, but will do the job. The beef balls are mid as there’s not enough flavour - pmall does it better. Prices are reasonable and great value! Parking is in the plaza and may get busy at night.
Very delicious Chinese traditional dessert! Loved the assorted fruits with coconut milk add some Sago!! FYI - cash or debit only
