Excellent stay here. Shout out to the park staff who keep the showers and bathrooms clean! Such beautiful scenery. We floated down the river on innertubes. Such a great time. Also the sprinklers on the lawn turned out to be a fun time for our four and five year old. Note to the public who take advantage of the bathroom cleaning staff. Please pick up after yourself better. We found dirty diapers in the showers as well as freshly groomed pubic hair in a pile by the doorway! Gross.

This is one of the premiere state parks in Oregon for those who fish, hike, enjoy wildlife or mountain bike. If you RV or camp with a trailer you NEED reservations during the Summer and Fall seasons.

Stayed overnight in the Primitive RV/tent camping spots in loop B. Cost was $10. Dry camping. No hook ups. The grass was nice. The lake was gorgeous. The short hike that we did behind the campground followed the river. There are a lot of great things about this place. What I didn't like about this area is that there were lots of bugs in the grass. Every step you took just stirred up a whole bunch of bugs. They would fly in your nose, fly in your hair, fly in your eyes. Also, there were a lot of geese poop in the grass. Thousands and thousands of geese poop that you could not avoid no matter how much you tried. Gross. It was just exhausting trying to get around the bugs and geese poop. The trains came by every few hours and made a lot of noise. Some of the trains held their horn for minutes at a time. Other times the rumbling was just so loud from the trains running over their tracks. In the mornings they set off their sprinklers and it was hard to avoid getting our camper and truck from getting wet from the sprinkler water. I don't normally mind a little water but if hard water (like sprinkler water) gets dried on to your truck or car, it can cause water spot damage. Water spot damage has happened to me in the past and I've paid hundreds of dollars to get it cleaned off. Overall this was a decent place to overnight camp. There are a lot of beautiful things about this campground. We weren't able to enjoy everything that this place has the offer, but I think this would be a nice place to stay for a few days if you don't mind all the geese poop, the bugs, and the train noise.

Great camping directly on the river. No bugs and a family friendly atmosphere. Seems to have good fishing too

Beautiful 24 mile spring hike, I cannot see doing other than water sports here in Summer. It's a Spring/Fall hiking area to me.
