Deschutes River State Recreation Area Campground

Wonderful campground w nice big sites, paved mostly level RV pads, full 50amp hookups w water, full restrooms w showers, and within sight of the Deschutes River! Camp hosts were amazing friendly & helpful people!! They do not take reservations this time of year, first come first serve basis only but there were plenty of open sites even on Spring Break weekend. Yes, you can hear the train at all hours, but I personally slept right thru the night. The sounds of the river and wind in the canyon were lulling & pleasant. Def a 5 star campground! Bike trails are fun and decent length, but are all gravel roads and no real challenging terrain. Beware tire popping local Thorn bushes! Def pack extra tubes. All around, what a great place and we will.def be back

Nice campground, but a little too nice. It's great that they have so many volunteers, but the three times we've stayed here weed eaters at 9am! Lawnmowers, noisy. We work nights and sleep late, even when we are awake and hanging out eating breakfast it's annoying as hell.

Clean and well managed park. RV, dry, and group areas. Hiking, biking, and horse back riding. Oh yeah, there is a river.

Great place with shade and wildlife. Only downer was the freight train every couple of hours.

Very nice campground but the trains and freeway noise can wake a person up.
