Last weekend, I had the opportunity to try out a newer Korean restaurant. It's an authentic taste of Korea, reminding me of home. We ordered pork bone soup, stir-fried squid and vegetable, cold noodles, bibimbap and homemade rice sausage. I highly recommend trying their rice sausage - it's an absolute specialty and truly one-of-a-kind!Food: 5/5
Tucked away in Altona Towers plaza is this amazing Korean restaurant Dangol. Ambiance is a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual dining experience. The restaurant's warm lighting and tasteful decor create a pleasant and comfortable environment for everyone. Menu - Dangol boasts an extensive menu of authentic Korean dishes that are sure to satisfy any craving. From classic favorites like bibimbap and bulgogi to lesser-known delicacies, there is something for everyone. Dining Experience - I had a delightful dining experience. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, providing excellent service throughout the meal. The wait times for food were reasonable, allowing for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. Highlight was the variety of banchan side dishes served with the meal. The assortment of pickled vegetables, kimchi, and other flavorful bites added depth and complexity to the overall dining experience. Overall, this is a fantastic Korean restaurant that offers a wide range of authentic dishes with a fusion twist in a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a fan of Korean cuisine or looking to explore new flavors, Dangol is definitely worth a visit.
My wife and and the kids love the food here and their got KamJaTang takeout for me and I love it. The kimchi was very good too. Most the the place I have kimchi doesn't have the spicy kick in it. But this one does. I also love the supreme chicken. Also the rice is purple rice. Lot of other place just gave plan rice now.Food: 5/5
Dangol is a new Korean restaurant that just opened not long ago. As a Korean food lover, of course I have to give it a try. I ordered takeout of my two sticky items: Pork Bone Soup and Seafood Tofu Soup. The staff were polite and the service was good. It took about 10 minutes for my orders to be ready. The soups tasted good, typical Korean soups. But two things I had to deduct stars: 1. For an order of two soup meals, they only provided one set 3 mini containers of banchan side dishes, and each container was only half full. It's a shame. 2. The rice was super hard, especially after it cooled down. We had to add water and microwaved it a bit to soften it. The two things I love about Korean meals, banchan and rice, unfortunately were both ruined. Such rookie mistakes from a Korean restaurant. After my visit, I still couldn't be sure about whether Dangol is an authentic Korean restaurant or not. The staff could understand my Korean, but they got the name of their menu item wrong, and failed on the two most basics of Korean meals. But for the least I can say, the food is not bad and it's not a bad experience. ** There's a weird translation error on their menu that almost stopped me from visiting because I'm not very fond of unauthentic Korean eateries. - in Chinese should be translated as pink as in color or rose as in flower. What they have there is , which is a phonetic translation from Mandarin pronunciation. It's unusual but acceptable, I had seen it on social media, after all it's for Chinese customers. But the English translation got me puzzled. in English is always Rosé not Roge. It's commonly known in South Korea. I don't know how a "Korean" restaurant can get that wrong. Hence, I was skeptical.**
This new Korean restaurant is worth visiting! The food & service were both good. We also got a 10% discount I think it might be their current grand opening promo. One thing was that there was only a tiny piece of potato in the pork bone soup, but our server kindly brought us some more : The restaurant was also a tiny bit stuffy, but it wasn’t a big problem.
We ordered 5 dishes - seafood pancake large portion size, a bit on the greasy side, donkatsu felt a bit over fried and rice was a tad hard, cheese corn delicious but pricey, bulgogi tteok bokki delicious bus portion size was on the smaller side of rice cakes and original fried chicken it took a while so we ended up cancelling it. Each dish came out quite spaced out. Pricing was on the higher end. Our fav was the bulgogi tteok bokki. Staff were really pleasant and apologetic about the fried chicken taking so long. Provided complimentary juice for our kids, which was really nice and tasty!. I would come back to try other items on the menu
First time here. Smaller restaurant. Staff were cordial but could've have been way more attentive. Granted it was pretty busy and only 1 girl working the fromt of the restaurant. Food was really basic to be completely honest here, nothing to write home about. I don't think I wpuld return as I would want to check out a different place next time. I probably only would suggest if you are in the area and there's no other option around.
It is a very clean restaurant, food are served fairly quick and taste very good. Only soft drinks are served for right now.Food: 5/5
Dan Gol is new and we thought we’d try it out. It was quite busy when we arrived around 7pm and even as we sat down and ate, there was a steady stream of people coming in or picking up takeout — all good signs. Food was very good. The vegetable pancake was not oily/greasy at all. Portions were quite generous. As the restaurant is newly opened, it seems they’re still working out the flow/rhythm of a busy dinner period, so it might a bit bit slow to start, but in spite of that they still get 5/5 from me. My 6 y.o. has this to add: “So yummy! I hope to come back here again!” I concur.
You can tell by the garnish on the naengmyeon, it was one of the best I’ve had. The grilled mackarel with rice and soup was also perfect. This place felt so authentic and everything was delicious. We’ll definitely be back.Food: 5/5
