The pork bone soup here was generous but bland. Just tasted like pork soup. Could not taste any other flavours. The beef with rice was not what I expected it was a slightly spicy thick cut beef stir fry, while I wrongly assumed it would be bulgogi. It was still tasty, but not something I would crave. The side dish options are very good though. You get to pick your own from a large selection.
I came here the other day with my friend and the food is pretty good! The portion is generous and it's quite affordable! I ordered beef ribs on rice and spicy rice cakes, I would say it's authentic Korean food and would definitely come back for more! The owner was really friendly and helpful :
Delicious and authentic Korean food!! Great prices for very generous portions. We tried the pork bone soup and the spicy pork belly rice dish and loved both!! You also get to choose your side dishes. The owner is very friendly and she remembers her customers. This is a hidden gem I highly recommend! There is parking in the plaza. :
Finding good food is like falling in love; you get hit when you least expect it. This was my experience at this place. I was super hungry off my flight, and it happened to be walking distance from the Airbnb. I was blown away by the food. All I had was the beef rice bowl but it came with a smorgasbord of other tasty sides. The beef alone was worth writing this review, but the whole ensemble stole my heart. Easily a top 10 meal of my life. If you’re in the area how do you not eat here? If I lived in Toronto or within an hour drive of this place I’d probably go at least twice a month if not once a week. I’m probably gonna go back tomorrow.
I stopped by today and it was a great experience! My friend and I both ordered kalbi bento box. The owner works alone so don't expect a quick "grab'n go" service. Kalbi was tender and well marinated, small amount of ricewhich works great for me 'cause that fills me up and lots of different types of side dishes! Generous portion and great taste. Highly recommend when you're around! I definitely will be back and try something else. Cash or debit only.
Cute little Korean spot on the corner of Steeles and Midland Avenue. There are parking spaces available, but weekends can be tricky. The inside is small, with a counter against the windows where 2/3 people might squeeze in. It’s more of a takeout place. We ordered the Special Combo for two $24.95: a bowl of Gamjatang pork bone soup, rice, and a serving of Japchae. We also ordered the Special Rice Cakes $9.95. The soup came out boiling hot and was very meaty. The broth was quite oily, so we didn’t sip it. The Japchae was perfectly cooked, not too salty, and is one of our favorite dishes.
The lady owner makes the best side dishes! I always get side dishes from her and she changes menu daily- potatoes, tonghao, fish cake, kimchi, radish…. Today’s eggplant is sososo tasty! Love it!
I have been going to this restaurant for years and I keep coming back for the fresh Korean food. The spicy items do have a kick but if you love spicy, you will love them. The store is usually run by the owner alone unless its during peak hours so she may seem a little busy but she is a very kind person who cares about her customers. The value of her items is great with plenty of options that will always fill you up on a budget. My go-to recommendations are the Pork Bone Soup and Spicy Pork on rice. If you want a place that has tasty, authentic Korean food then you should give this place a try! Parking: There is plenty of parking spots nearby Tim Hortons nearby, another plaza and the plaza itself is not that busy so you will be able to park around at any time Dietary restrictions: I never had requests for dietary restrictions but the owner is very nice and will recommend you options if you had dietary restrictions or even tweak the item itself to fit what you want.
Fresh and homey! The lunch box is great bang for your buck, the contents are diverse and plentiful. Everything was delicious and I felt like I was getting a complete meal. Highly recommend and know I will be back in the future.
Me and my family often come here for authentic Korean food. The combos here are great to share and the service is really nice! The workers forgot to include rice from our combo and side dishes - we asked them about it and they kindly apologized and gave us what was missing. We ordered Combo #1 and #2. I really like the bibimbap - well portioned tasted great! One thing to note is the black bean udon noodles was missing a little flavour compared to what I’m used to.
