This is a takeout only store. Their specialty is rice rolls, congee and claypot rice. Wait time for claypot rice is 25 min, so call ahead is always a good idea.Food: 5/5
This is the best place that I have came across for Dough Stick, Sweet Cruller, Rice Noodle Rolls. Even better than those famous restaurents for these kind of food in Vancourver. The taste remind me when I was a kid having these sort of food back in HongKong. Highly recommended for this place for all who love Congee, Dough Stick etc. Next time when I travel to Toronto again, I will not miss this restaurant.
Delicious Cantonese style dishes without making you feel thirsty after eating. The variety of deep fried doughs are soft & puffy, yet crispy on the outside but not greasy; unlike you get from other eateries. Must try the pork liver rice roll. Liver cooked just right, not grainy. The best food we had during our visit to Toronto.
Cantonese breakfast take out with generous portions of congee and rice noodle rolls. Lots of combination with their clay pot rice dishes. They also serve some Taishan hot soup noodles. I didn't taste much MSG in their congee or rice noodle rolls. They only had large tables. Wished there was a bigger sit-down dining area so that patrons can enjoy their freshly made to order food. This place serves private Cantonese food catering for dinner service. Parking: Limited parking spots in front of the store.
We ordered for take away. It was very bitter, so weird…. We tried to call back to ask if it’s normal but there was no one answer. The bitter after taste was getting stronger now. I even felt my throat itching now. Hope it’s not food poisoning. Anyone has similar experience? I keep on searching on web why rice roll is bitter I am lying down on the sofa, sweating, after taking 2 pieces of it. Hope I don’t need to go to hospital….
You have to book and order ahead in you want to dine in. Food and service is really good. Vegetarian options: For dine in, you can custom order. Kid-friendliness: You get the room to yourself
Hidden gem, they sell HK style traditional food here, there are many items that you can't find anywhere else. Very good food here but very small dine in area so you kinda have to do take outFood: 5/5
[visited 2023 April] Privately catered dine-in dinner. Call ahead to reserve. Great for group of 9-12. I appreciate dishes that are not often found at other Chinese restaurants that require more work and effort to make. Excellent low-key and humble location.
Food and service were great. Clay pot rice is buy 2 get 1 free. Congee is also excellent. The only drawback is that this is not meant to be a dine-in place. They do have 2 or 3 really large tables in the dining room, however, everything will come in a take out container. Only a lady was doing both cashier and server jobs, but she was great with us. There are also frozen dishes you can buy and reheat at home. Parking: Parking right at the restaurant is very few, but just park at the next plaza and walk through the lawn, it's much easier.
Not opening and not answering the phone on Monday. I went there on Monday around 12pm. The door sign showed Open, but nobody was inside. I called but nobody answered the phone. If it is not opening, at least the door sign should show Closed, instead of Open. Do not waste time and gas!Service: 1/5
