Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu

Went here with my family and was thoroughly impressed. To begin, the atmosphere is quaint, but nice. The restaurant feels a little cramped, but that's really looking at the devil in the details. Overall, the food was excellent with a strong balance of flavours. From the house staple Soon Tofu to the Spicy Pork each dish was crafted well and had deep flavour profiles. As a heads up, each main course comes with side dishes kimchi, bean sprouts, beans. For service, the waitress was extremely welcoming and provided top-level service. However, the guy up front was a little rude, but we looked past that because of the overall service and quality of the food. All in all, a great restaurant that you have to try.

Very busy restaurant. When I arrived on a Saturday evening, I had to wait a little bit for a table to free up. It was not very long though. Service was quick. Their specialty are the tofu soups. They serve it with rice in a stone bowl and some small side dishes. You can crack an egg and add it yourself in your bowl so that it will slowly cook. It was nice and warm. You can chose your level of spicyness. We got the dumpling beef one as well as the vegetable one. They were very good and served hot. The rice was really good. It was a lot of food for me and I could not finish the rice. On weekends and holidays, they don’t split bills so only one person can pay. You can get 10% with takeout only. They have washrooms downstairs. I like that there are hand sanitizers on the tables.

We were in the area and looking for some Korean food. This place is good for a quick sit down and go. It was a bit cold, I think the heat setting was on low. Other than that the food was amazing! We enjoyed dumplings, tofu and kimchi versions of soon tofu. Nice filling meal and good value

A nice little Korean restaurant with limited but tasty menu. The good is good, but the portions are ungenerous and small compare to similar Korean restaurants. This is probably the only Korean restaurant that I am aware with such small portions on everything, from appetizers to main dishes.

Been going here for years. My favourite is the dumpling tofu soup. This is the best on cold winter days. It definitely hit the spot. I got regular spicy. It comes with a side of rice, bean sprouts, kimchi and soybeans. A little bit expensive compared to back then but it's definitely the best tofu soup in town. Remember to crack the raw egg into the soup as it comes out piping hot. : Enjoy!

The beef plate was very tasty, not over seasoned and they’re generous with the portions. I didn’t end up with more rice than needed. The gamja-tang isn’t the best you can get in Korea town, but it’s a solid standard. The cutlet was also solid, but not really worth it in my opinion. Could use more sides! It’s a well known chain for a reason. Their location in North York is fantastic too.

Came here to dine in and the place was full, people definitely love this place. I got the combination Soon Tofu, with the highest spice level. It came with rice and In a boiling hot pot. The soup was so amazing and spicy and the tofu was so soft. I’d really recommend this for anyone looking for comfort food. The staff was also very kind.

When in Buk Chang Dong, always order soon tofu. I've been hooked to their seafood soon tofu for over a decade now. But in the Korean Town branch, they have unique menu items not found anywhere else, so for once I was in the restaurant without ordering my favourite. Pork bone soup?? Yes, please! The soup is milder than my usual taste, but the pork bones were decently generous. The bulgogi hot plate came sizzling, always a great way to serve grilled meat. The new menu items are all winners and highly recommended.

We were craving for Tofu soup and found this place with the more reviews. Place is cozy and many tables available. This place does not take reservation when called, buy we didn't need to wait when we reached. We ordered tofu soups along with fried dumplings. Food was okay. Not too good or too bad. We had high expectations based on reviews. Staff is friendly and available when needed. They also offer 10% discounts when paid in cash. Pretty decent! Pictures are attached for reference!

I don’t eat a ton of Korean food but I loved what I had here. Amazing bi bim bap. Loved the dumplings. Everything had great spice and fresh ingredients. This will be my go to Korean place now. Great spot!
