We stopped by this Cracker Barrel on our way from Chicago to Urbana, and just like the other Cracker Barrels I've visited, this one was also a great spot. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff member who served us was very friendly and cheerful. It was a delightful dinner experience!
Food came out cold, 2nd round was warm but eggs were 1/2 cooked and cold, 3rd time for scrambled eggs were runny and not fully cooked. Server was ok but had to ask for refills and other things as she kept forgetting. Definitely NOT a good breakfast there!
We went there at around Sunday, March 30th. We arrived at around 8:00pm-ish and they closed in an hour 9:00pm and we were seated of course there is no other customers around and when we asked what drinks we wanted I got the coke and when my mother asked for the peach drink they were serving are server said “sorry, we ran out of peach drink.” And she got sugar free soda instead when we started ordering are food I went first and of course I wanted to get my usual meatloaf and side of broccoli and mashed potatoes. Unfortunately was informed that they don’t have meatloaf or broccoli either and I had to order a different course and another side for the entree it was like some sort of glazed chicken with bacon on it and for the other side Mac n cheese. and my mom got chicken dumpling soup and side of corn and I think greenbeans and mashed potatoes as well. We also wanted biscuits as well but when we got are food I had a weird feeling and it was strange are food came out first before we even got are biscuits, and of course we had to ask for are biscuits since they forgot about them and when they brought them there was only 3 or 4 biscuits like are you kidding me! ‍ When my mother ate her food the chicken dumplings was overcooked and extremely BLAND! And her sides the corn was overcooked, mashed potatoes felt room temperature and crusty and the green beans were the only side perfectly cooked for my food I got two glazed chicken breast with sauce with one bacon strip on each breast and got a LOT of mashed potatoes the edges of the potatoes were cold and the middle was warm and Mac n cheese was bland a room temperature as well after eating half my plate I begin to feel nauseous and decided to ask for are check and boxes, we paid are food and went home later on at home was feeling a bit better enough to eat my leftovers I warmed up my food and when I was about to finish eating my chicken I saw some weird discoloration inside of my chicken and I was confident that I think my chicken was NOT Cooked long enough at all so I ended having to vomit my leftovers up and I ended up feeling sick afterwards and my mother did call the manager the next day and she told are story and the manager said the next time we come in are food will be comped. Worst Sunday Ever. ‍
Originally, we planned to sleep in the Walmart parking lot in our travel trailer on the first night of our extended vacation. However, as we entered the city and spotted a Cracker Barrel, our focus immediately shifted to staying there instead. After a quick phone call to the restaurant, we were reassured that we could use their parking lot for the night.nnYay!nnWe parked and headed inside for dinner, and the food was delicious as always. I'm also a huge fan of the gift shop—it's possibly my favorite place to shop for unique gifts! That night, we settled in to sleep in the parking lot... or at least we tried. Unfortunately, some inconsiderate person parked next to us after midnight and ran his generator for half the night. Some people really have no regard for others! Thankfully, the generator either turned off or ran out of gas after a couple of hours, allowing us to finally fall asleep.nnIn the morning, we went back in to enjoy breakfast and pick up a few items, including some of the cutest Christmas tree decorations I've ever seen. For breakfast, we both had a good laugh at the unique shape of my ham, and we savored some hot coffee before hitting the road again.nnOverall, it’s a great place and a much-appreciated stop for weary travelers.
Went there for dinner with my husband and another couple We got seated quickly it wasn’t overly crowded or busy. Was thinking everything was gonna be good. Nope, the drinks were flat and honestly they were warm. Our food came out cold. My husband ordered the Tuesday special pork chops and the the 2 sides he got apples and not sure what else it was but those were cold. I got country fried steak with mashed potatoes and corn. Potatoes was the only decent thing. Also I tried your chicken and dumpling soup it’s bland extremely bland. One of my friends asked for more gravy the server came back with mashed potatoes with gravy not what she asked for. So she asked again to bring just the gravy. 20+ minutes later after she finished almost eating everything the server finally brings the gravy out oops. Let’s just say the the meal itself wasn’t worth the $80..service from our server was fine. Something told me she was serving more tables than she should have been, because I did not see another server.
