Courtyard by Marriott Providence Downtown

We’ve stayed here several times and this trip Christmas 2025 is by far the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. There’s construction happening on the higher floors. We were not notified in advance, or we would have stayed elsewhere. Instead we’re listening to constant noise, yes, even on Christmas. Noise so loud we can’t hear the television. It’s maddening. Hotel staff tried moving our room, but the construction noise followed. No manager on site because of the holiday. Be warned if you plan to stay here in the mear future I recommend calling and asking if the construction is done first before booking your stay here. So.Loud.

First time in Providence and this hotel is located in a great spot to experience the city. I didn't know it until we arrived and strolled around. It's set back a way from the street but it's across from a park and a short walking distance to downtown and the nearby mall. I also discovered a recently opened food hall next door which exceeded all my expectations.nnThe room was updated and comfortable. As Courtyards are geared toward work travel I found the desk convenient and the desk chair to be very comfy. The large love seat was also comfy. This is in contrast to other hotel chairs that are more info comfortable like the hotel room in currently in.nnBetween the location and the room I wish I spent more time at this hotel.nnThe staff were pleasant and helpful.

It was a bit hard to navigate to the parking garage given the one way but I got used to it after a couple days. Everyone is polite and ready to help you. The walls are a bit thin so be ready to hear hallway and neighboring room conversations. Otherwise, location is phenomenal as it’s also within walking distance of literally anything.

The beds were comfortable and I like that the duvet is heavy. The 6th floor was an absolute disaster. Someone in management thought it was a great idea to put guests in the rooms they were doing renovations directly above so at 8am I woke up to the sound of a shovel scraping right above my head. These were really sweet about moving rooms but let’s not forget to acknowledge the human waste smeared on the wall.

The rooms are nice, the bed was very comfortable, the bartender at the bistro, Maria, was really great and very personable. The only gripe I have is the noise from the street. My room was facing Providence Place and there was a lot of noise from the cross streets outside all through the night.
