We stayed at the Graduate for our wedding.nnPros: the lobby really came through for us when it poured on our wedding day and our outdoor photo locations were no longer viable. It’s a beautiful lobby. Staff were friendly and professional, but not proactive.nnCons: the first room we were assigned reeked of cigarettes. We were able to change rooms though. I asked for wine glasses and it took 12 hours for them to arrive at our room. Perhaps the biggest issue we had was the temperature in the room. The building is old and apparently cannot run both heat and AC concurrently in different rooms. That’s fine, the old charm is part of what we like. The issue is we were promised a space heater and it did not show up for 2 days at our room despite repeatedly requesting one. It was 60 degrees in our room and sleeting outside. This was just unacceptable and we will not be staying here again. The hotel did take off 25% of our bill which was kind, the staff was always friendly but it felt like tasks were just not being followed up on. 60 degrees in a hotel room is way too cold.
Location was very convenient in downtown and close to a lot of amenities. Upon checking in, the woman working the front desk was not friendly. It felt like we were an inconvenience to her and she was very short with us. Check out was similar, a different woman was not particularly friendly. The room was okay but the toilet had stains in it, there were weird drip marks from something spilled on the baseboards, and peeling wallpaper. Another person travelling with me said their room was very dirty and there was food left in the fridge. I used the fitness center and it had very few machines and didn't offer sanitizing wipes for the equipment so everything seemed a little dirty. I actually liked how weird and funky the decor was though. Very unique and quirky. It's hard to beat the location but if the rooms were cleaned better and staff a little friendlier I would stay again.
Centrally located in the heart of Providence. Many places are within walking distance, including the Mall and Civic Center.nnParking is around the corner, the front desk messed up our ticket so we were out extra money and time.nnThe in-house restaurant was great, but closed due to low staffing for 2 of the nights we were there.nnRoom was clean and the Hollywood theme gave the old place charm.
This hotel was absolutely disgusting. Marketing yourselves as a 4-star property is robbery to your guests. You are lying to your guests. Why don’t you take a look at my photos and tell me what screams 4 stars about how broken and dirty everything was? Stains all over our room. All over the walls. Dirty carpets everywhere. Filthy elevator buttons.nnWhile the hotel is centrally located the area of town is extremely dangerous.nnLet’s talk about the service we received at this property. Everything was a “no”. We needed to see if an early check in was available. “No.” Can we park in front to unload? “No.” Do you sell newspapers? “No” can I have coffee brought up to my room? Btw there’s NO coffee maker. Just a hot water kettle and instant coffee in which our room had only decaf coffee placed in it. No sugar. No creamer. What am i supposed to do with that? “no we don’t bring coffee to the room.”nnI thought this was a nicer hotel. I booked this hotel because I had been working very hard for the last few days and thought it would be nice to relax and catch up on rest in a nicer hotel. This hotel was a nightmare from start to finish and my husband and I ended up leaving earlier than we planned because we were so disappointed and were ready to just go back home. I’ll be requesting a refund.
We ended up moving to a suite, which we thoroughly enjoyed the unique eclectic.Style of the room. As a side note, we started out in a different room on the upper level of the hotel and that room was dated and not comfortable. Once we were moved, we were fine. The staff are very friendly. The lobby is really worth seeing and the spa services we're good.
