Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Coon Rapids, MN

Stayed here for my kids birthday. Rooms were clean beds are comfy, pool was on the smaller side but very nice area with clean bathrooms and clean wet areas. Whirlpool was hot and pool wasn't freezing. Workout are was small but the equipment was brand new and brand name, treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike and a all-in-one weight resistance machine that I wish I owned. Bonus was cooler water with cups in the fitness room. Breakfast is like every Country Inn and Suites and the reason I choose this chain. You can eat healthy or pig out. I'm gluten free and there is plenty of options, eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes of some kind, have a bar with salsa, sour cream and cheese for eggs, gluten free cereal (along with others), yogurt, fruit, gluten free bread (some chains don't put this out but you can request it and they may have it). Other things my family eats that I can't, sausage and gravy, make your own waffles, pastries, bagels, toast (butter, peanut butter, jelly) oatmeal with all the toppings, and of course drinks: milk, water, OJ, apple, coffee, assorted teas, hot chocolate. This isn't the newest Country Inn and Suites but they did remodel and it's on the same level as other ones I've stayed in and would pick over any other chain again and again.

The room was clean and large. Nice size bathroom but the entryway door was kind of small. Good continental breakfast. Beds were comfortable. The exterior looks older but the inside is nice.

PROS: 1) the lady who checked me in was great. Professional, quick, and a joy to talk to. 2) The breakfast was good. Better than most in this price range hotel. 3) The room had a microwave and a small fridge. Some hotels no longer do this. CONS: 1) The room was in disrepair. The bi-fold closet door was off its hinges and standing in a corner of the room. 2) The bed was lumpy, uneven, and horribly uncomfortable. 3) The towels have the same grade of comfort as sandpaper. Forty grit. 4) The below-window heater and AC unit was loud. In fact, everything was loud. 5) The TV had poor connection. The picture pixelated often. The channels took forever to change. The remote's batteries were dead. 6) Very few choices re food in the area. If you like loud sports bars, then the Muddy Cow is okay. 7) Everything about the hotel just says old. The meeting rooms. The pool room. The elevators. Old can be okay if it's taken care of. Not here.

The hotel was OK, but the Service was horrible. If I could give 0 stars for customer service I would. I called to receive a copy of my receipt after my stay and was told that I would receive a copy via email. The same thing I was told when checking out. so I waited 15 min and no email. I called back to verify my address and the person just hung up on me. So I figured maybe just a bad connection so I tried again and same thing. I guess I'll just find a different hotel chain to stay at then.

Had a family bday party there had a good time n the rooms were nice all had fun.n when I asked for towels for the room they told me that.."they don't give towels"..mediocre breakfast..n I thought when u forget something there n when u return to get it should be there right????😡😡 Housekeeping😡😡...n the staff should be respect n have common courtesy to help the guest find there belongings not in this case...but with that said I will not be returning...👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
