The gym is ok. It could use some updated equipment, a fair number of machines are out of order, often for extended periods of time. No equipment for inner / outer thighs which I've had at all previous gyms. Staff aren't rude but not overly enthusiastic about their jobs either. Ventilation used to be an issue but I find it's been better lately. Men's change rooms need updating and more frequent cleaning. Again, not a bad gym but some basic improvements would go a long way.
I’ve been a member at this gym many times, despite having a busy schedule I always go back because the staff here makes the experience a good one. I usually get my membership through Amreen as she goes above and beyond to make sure I am set for all my gym needs. She cares about what your goals are and what can be done to help you achieve exactly what is needed. I went in recently and was so happy to see all the Halloween decorations, it’s nice to walk in and feel the Halloween spirit!
Cancelled my gym membership after a few weeks. The gym is very dirty, smells like sweat. I tried make it inside but every single time I have to prepare myself. Machines are descent, but lots of broken ones and never get fixed. Only a couple squat rack…… which is surprising for a gym so huge. Also very crowded even at 7am!
I signed up to C16 in Feb 2022 and right away got myself Personal Training sessions with Courtney . It was the honestly the best decision of my life . Right away we were able to sit down and assess my fitness goals. Before Club16 , my fitness activity level was zero to Low , during COVID gained lots of weight . Courtney started me off nice and slow and I really appreciated that. I wasn’t comfortable being in a gym at first, it seemed so big and daunting , but Courtney week after week showed me new machines/equipment around the facility , and I grew to really like using these “scary” machines. Courtney is an exceptional Personal Trainer . Highly knowledgeable, as she continues to take on extra continuing education courses , adding to her already established skills. She really pushes and motivates me to go beyond what I think I can handle , to achieve new PR’s. It’s always my own mind and fears that hold me back from pushing myself, so this type of coaching has really benefited me . Even when i have my slow sluggish days, or have bad knee pain every so often and I can’t perform at my usual Weights, she encourages me and adjusts my training to meet my needs. Courtney regularly keeps track of my sessions and updates my workouts with my new progress reports , which I am able to access regularly and refer to on my days working out alone . She somehow manages to sneak in some photos and videos while I’m focused on the exercise , these have helped me to see how I can improve on my form, or simply to show me how great I’m doing ! Before Courtney I was completely oblivious to how weight training works . I never in a million years thought I would be weight training , but now I LOVE IT !! Courtney has also educated me on my nutrition. And now thanks to her I’m not afraid to eat without feeling guilty for having a piece of bread . She taught me smarter choices . In the beginning I had tonnes of questions for her, and she was ALWAYS available and quick to answer via text , without making me feel like I’m a nuisance . The Club 16 gym itself is , nice and spacious more so at 5-6am , the gym has brought in new equipment over the last few months . Yeah it does smell a bit when you walk in, perhaps get some natural Essential oil diffusers at the entrance so people don’t get grossed out. But none of that fake chemical allergy causing scents. Sometimes equipment is broken , does take a while to get fixed i have to admit but they do eventually get fixed . The staff at the front desk ALWAYS say hello and goodbye with a smile on their face despite having to wake up before 5am Now, 8 months of training 2 days per week with Courtney and 3 days on my own I feel way more confident at the gym and in my own skin. I have lost weight at a healthy rate , gained muscle , And this is all thanks to the great Training and encouragement I’ve been receiving from Courtney. She clearly loves what she does !
I recently canceled my membership and I am glad I did. Unlike other gyms I been to, this gym is not worth the money and time to spend. My first bad impression was on the first day which was not welcoming as a new member when wanted to go to the gym but forgot my temporary gym card so they didn’t let me in! They could have let me in by checking my ID card like other gyms. The same day I noticed it was very smelly af and although masks were mandatory but no one were wearing masks!! When canceled my membership, they told me they’ll charge 1 month extra!!! I don’t know how on earth this gym charge people and they did not even mention it in the beginning!!! Beware of this anytime you wanted to sign up for this gym!!!
It’s not a bad gym considering the cheap biweekly prices. It’s fairly big and has a good number of squat racks, but only 2 platforms and 2 benches. The womens section has its own squat rack and platform which is nice. I would avoid going at peak hours because nearly every machine gets taken and it gets super crammed. I just wish they had AC here because even though I go super early in the morning when it’s chilly, it’s always so hot inside and doesn’t always smell nice. The staff are alright. It is a commercial gym though so there are people who don’t show a lot of gym etiquette. Make sure to wipe down equipment before using because most people dont.
I worked with maria as my personal trainer and its really nice working with her. She is really friendly and listen to my concern as her own and provides me with best practises to help reduce weight. I would definitely recommend everyone to get her as your trainer if u feel like having one.
They will never cancel your membership in any conditions. I joined for 12 months training plan and I went for 4 months. In between my family doctor asked not me to do any weight training due to my physical issues. I submitted the medical form and called them for cancelation. Eventually they said that they will not cancel it and I can pay the remaining $750 and cancel it. They just need the money either you come or not. I would never suggest Club 16 as the fitness gym.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. they charged me for the service they didn’t provided. I phoned them and emailed them several times that they Mistakenly charged me extra for two months and I want a refund. No one answered me my questions and told me the manager will call me. I never received any call.the invoice they sent me clearly shows that they have already charged my card the amount i had to pay but still after explaining them they charged me extra two times. One of the customer service guy told me they are charging for the time gym was closed during covid, which is totally unfair because if you didn’t provide the service for specific time you don’t have right to charge. Even the contract didn’t explain this. these people steal money from people and provide invalid reason for charging. if they are doing same thing with everyone what they did with me they must have made a big amount out of it!
i wouldn’t have chosen anyone else to work with if it weren’t MARIA!! she is an amazing trainer; she is terribly sweet, patient, and extremely understanding. i was really intimidated to go to the gym and work with any PT because i didn’t know what to expect, but maria was very kind and i always knew she went out of her way to make sure i could trust AND talk to her. even the way she talks about her other clients, i know she puts effort to redefine PT-client relationships beyond the gym and makes sure we are healthy emotionally as well as physically. even though i am no longer her client, she always reaches out when i see her around and is open when i have questions. i will always be so grateful for her!!
