This place was recommended by my friend. A Hong Kong cafe that is quite well known. We ordered the following: 1. iced milk tea 2. iced lemon tea 3. satay beef with instant noodles comes with 2 sausages, scrambled eggs and 2 pieces of toast 4. curry chicken with rice Generous portion size, flavourful and quick service.
This cafe chain is originally from Hong Kong and well known, especially for some of their specialities, like their scrambled eggs. We visited during afternoon tea around 3pm on a Saturday and it was steady busy the entire time we were there. The space is fairly small, so it doesn't seat too many parties, especially if you have more than 2 people. We waited 30 min for a party of 4 people, and I deducted 1 star mainly because they could have been more efficient about it; there was one table that could seat 4 people and a woman sitting there who hadn't ordered, hadn't gotten her food, and was still waiting for her 1 friend to arrive. They could have politely asked her to move to a table for 2 and given us that table, but instead opted to seat a bunch of tables of 2 ahead of us. Once we did get a table, the service was good and the staff was friendly. We got our food quickly, and everything was cooked well. The afternoon tea sets and meals all came with drinks, and the price was decent $56 before tip for 4 people.
Cool interior with nostalgic HK vibes, but food is pretty mediocre. Milk tea is decent. Small limited menu which you would expect better food as a result, but was again pretty average. Space is also small and there’s always a wait with people gathered by the door.
Excellent authentic Hong Kong Tea Café vibe. Quality and speed of service is very good. Food portions and quality is also good for the price. Really liked their $12.95 all day Stay Beef Noodles with toast, two eggs and two sausages, plus a coffee or tea! They tend to be very busy as there's not a whole lot of space. We went for afternoon tea time and didn't have to wait long
Sunday lunch and wanted to try this Hong Kong style fast food restaurant. Long line up and had to wait about 20mins for a table. I was not really impressed with the food or the service we recieved and no excuse that it was busy... This place is normally busy during peak times. Curry beef brisket was tender and the milk tea 7 out of 10 rating. If you want your fix of Hong Kong style food then you can come here and try it...
I joined the queue on their iPad. I got a text and a call when my table was ready. This is good as I can go to the shopping centre instead of waiting at the door. We ordered a pork chop with baked cheese curry sauce on rice, a bowl of noodles with beef brisket and pork skin. The curry sauce was not too spicy. The pork chop was tender. The serving size was just a little small. The bowl of noodles was pretty good. The brisket was yummy. Their milk tea was good but small. The selection of their main dishes were less than other HK style cafes. Service was okay. There were plenty of parking spots in the plaza.
Visited this Cha Chaan Teng on the recommendation from my two HK friends. The food quality and portions were top-notch. The decor and design were whimsical and definitely geared towards HK'ers abroad that missed the traditional experience from back home. We ordered The All Day Breakfast: Satay Beef Noodles with a side of Scrambled Eggs, Toast and Sausage, Baked Curry Chicken Rice, Baked Tomato Sauce Chicken Rice and a Curry Combo. Everything was well seasoned and delicious. Their milk tea is among the best I have tried in the GTA and I would happily come back to try other items from their menu. Parking: Located in a plaza with tons of free parking.
We're in the neighborhood and looking for something new to try. That's how we came across Chrisly Café Hong Kong Style Café. I've seen some posts on social media before so I know what to expect. We ordered very basic items include Spaghetti with BBQ Pork, Fried Eggs and Ham with Toast, and Fried Chicken Thigh and Fries. All have authentic taste from Hong Kong and in average portion. I especially love the Fried Chicken Thigh. It's freshly made and very tender and juicy. Overall we enjoyed our meal at Chrisly Café.
Chrisly Cafe is a nice option for HK cafe delights. My go to item is their egg sandwich which was adequate, but I did find the bread a bit think for my taste. Their instant noodle + toast/sausage hot dog/egg was also adequate at a decent price at 12.95 and also comes with a hot drink. The cafe is nicely renovated with an accent wall with cute names of their recommended items, the staff also provided decent service we were not rushed out, or yelled at if we needed another 15 seconds to decide on an item :P Not a bad choice if you are hungry craving HK cafe food!
The food is pretty good, standard HK cafe. They have a few interesting options on their menu but unfortunately what stood out was the bad service. They gave us the wrong take out order, even after confirming with us a few times what it is and checking the receipt as well. I think they couldn't be bothered to remake the correct one and just kind of hoped we wouldn't notice. And it worked. Didn't notice til we got home. 3.5 star food, 2.5 star service.
