Chimoto

Very small place that serves cute Japanese dessert which feels more like Taiwanese influenced food to be honest. A lot of menu was unavailable on the day we visited which was quite disappointing. Ice cream was ok but mochi was very hard and lacking flavour.

Really like the desserts here, almost tried most of the desserts and my favorite would have to be castle in the sky. Also great drinks, still need to try more of them but would recommend coming here during a nice warm sunny day.

Exactly same as this emoji! So cute : It seems like the staff starts cooking as soon as they get the order! It means, honestly, it takes a long time a little bit. But as you know it means it’s fresh as well, so it didn’t matter at all to me.

The matcha bubble tea was refreshing and the pearls had the perfect texture and sweetness. The server was friendly and helpful.

I find myself thinking about this shop more often than I should admit. We were not in Victoria very long one weekend but in that time we must have stopped by Chimoto at least 4 times. Chimoto offers a dessert experience unlike many others opting for the less sugary sweet Japanese style. They have a great variety of unique and super satisfying options so don't be afraid to go outside your comfort zone a bit. My only regret is that the day I decided to try ordering the Matcha Ice cream happened to be the same day the machine broke down. If I ever find myself in Victoria again, I will be back.

Love this place! Just started up and the desserts have been delicious so far. There is nothing like this in Victoria and I'm so glad they opened up! I've had their Parfait, their Taiyaki Ice Cream and their Matcha Cheese Latte. Everything was delicious! I hope they stick around it's definitely going to be my destination dessert place!

I wasn't too sure what I looking for when I visited, but after a good look around, it is a clean and nice environment, I get a warm welcome by the friendly staff. I was recommended to try the 'Castle in the sky' I was pleasantly surprised! A Matcha icecream on top, vanilla on the bottom with jellies, cornflakes for a satisfying crunch. Amazing! I would recommend to anybody who loves desserts, I can't wait to try the cheesecake next!

Was my first time at Chimoto so I ordered the sharing plate which gave 4 different samples of there deliciously adorable desserts. If you are interested in trying some traditional japanese desserts I suggest popping into Chimoto! I'll be back for more for sure! *^-^*

Was excited to have a Japanese dessert shop finally arrive in Victoria! Happy to travel back and forth from Japan and able to find equal quality outside of Japan. The Mochi stuffed with ice cream is a unique treat that must be had. I'm not one that loves overly sweet or pretentious desserts which is why I find this place the perfect place for discerning palates looking for subtitles that those can appreciate! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Expensive and ordinary, tried the danko and matcha roll cake. Almost 20$ with tip. Desserts did not look like pictures and service was slow despite the shop being empty. Danko was hard and dry in the middle. The roll cake had no flavour. Would not recommend.
