I'm absolutely guilty I've forgotten the lovely servers' name. Went this Saturday night with my husband. Was surprised to see it wasn't crazy busy, but maybe because the location was a bit closer to the water, and a bit further away from the main action. It was nice for us; we were seated promptly. First impressions: I love plants, and this place has a lovely collection, as well as a wall of tropicals that adds a comfortable vibe for me. The space was wide- wish I came in the day time, the large windows and patio would have been nice to see. Smaller menu, but... it is delicious. I'd rather have a smaller menu and be guaranteed it's good than try to cater to many tastes. Husband and I split the Artichoke Spinach dip- it is SO GOOD, I'm definitely coming back for more. I'm not even supposed to LIKE artichokes. I ordered the Chicken burger for my main- It has a spicy Mayo sauce, but not too spicy for me. It just adds a slight kick. Hubby ordered the one piece fish and chips, however two pieces is an option. The prices are good for what you get, it was $18.50 for the burger and fries. We didn't order dessert, we were so stuffed. I would come back again for sure, to at least hunt down that dip, and try their prawn pasta.
Delicious food with friendly & prompt service. All we wanted was a pub meal and a drink to enjoy this late fall evening. Arrived unannounced and got a table immediately. We got a great table outside and delicious tasting food! Burger and Fish Tacos were delicious and the best Yam fries.
Great patio with afternoon sun on an October day. We noticed that heaters were available for evening dining. Good friendly helpful service. We had fish tacos and wings, both were tasty. The quiet and polite little restaurant dog, Lincoln, tours the tables to keep everyone amused. Vegetarian options: Vegan dishes available.
We discovered this place by accident, are damn glad we did. Tug is a hidden gem of the highest order.... Amazing, creative cocktails, delicious nibbles, a fun and funky atmosphere, and a massive waterfront patio that manages to feel intimate. Highly recommend some 'tea time' here! Can't wait to return.Recommended dishesSushi Bites Halloumi Fries
Incredible next to the water vibe inside and outside. Friendly atmosphere owned and run by some awesome ladies, HI Sara! HI Madeleine! Great cocktails, especially the tea time martini served in a vintage silver teapot!! Got to try the Lychee Rose Martini. To.die.for!
One of the best in Victoria for sure. The pork belly has literally changed my life. I would get it every time I go. Maybe the halloumi cheese fries too. And the servers are really good. Great patio too. I've been here 4 times, which is the exact amount of times I've visited Victoria.Food: 5/5
Beautiful outdoor and indoor space. Willing to accommodate people with dietary needs. They also have a great selection of cocktails and the servers are awesome!! Kimchi fried rice is the best, bean taco comes second, and they all can be made vegan!! Also there are specials every week outside the menu! Look on the board!!
Came here for a happy hour drink, left with a happy belly. From specialty cocktails to tasty pork belly wraps, Tug has an impressive array of items on their happy hour menu and a harbour side patio to boot.
Our daughter recommended this place to us and we are so happy we took her advise and tried it. We took her on a Thursday for dinner and were super impressed… with EVERYTHING! The staff are the perfect mix of keeping you served but leaving you alone to visit. There was a live singer/guitar player who set up close to us and I was worried he was going to drown out the conversation, but that didn’t happen. He sure could carry a tune, and was the perfect volume for dinner music. His set lists were familiar songs that were entertaining and toe tapping. I think the server said he plays for a couple of hours around dinner time on THURSDAYS only. Candid pic of musician added so you can see how close we were to him. Speaking of dinner… the menu had so many great choices - we sampled a few and everything was great. Pictured is my Caesar, the halloumi fries appy that we shared before our entrees, lettuce wraps and key lime pie. I will add also, that the bar team have come up with a great array of cocktails. I tried the aperol spritz only because I was guaranteed that it would be better than any I have had in Italy… and they were right. Whodathunked! Tip: If you’re thinking of trying Tug Eatery, go on a Thursday if you want to hear a little live music with your meal. You’ll probably see us there ;. In our travels around the globe we have often found a ‘local spot’ to eat and listen to live music, but this is the first we’ve found somewhere that fits our vibe in our home town. We’re looking forward to next summer when the patio is open. It looks like it would be a super place to sit and watch the harbour life.
Well situated in the Victoria harbour-front, a walking distance from downtown or Vic-West, Tug has plenty boast about. A seafood-focused menu includes one delicious plant-based main course. A selection of local beers and an innovative cocktail menu with a generous patio that will enhance any refreshment and often features live musicians. Hint: ask for a blanket if you forgot your sweater. While the food is excellent, the menu does leave one wishing for more options from the highly capable kitchen.
