BeaverTails

BeaverTails is undoubtedly one of Canada's most iconic and delicious pastries, originating in Ottawa and spreading across the country. However, I can understand why some people may only try it once due to its indulgent nature. The pastry is made of fried dough and topped with a variety of toppings, including cinnamon sugar, chocolate hazelnut, and maple butter, among others. While it's undoubtedly a treat for those with a sweet tooth, the sugar content may be too much for some. That being said, for those willing to indulge, BeaverTails is a must-try pastry. It's perfect for a special occasion or as a sweet treat on a lazy afternoon.

Nutella is always perfection but the bread has too oil. Not too busy and friendly staff. It is that kind of thing you have to try to tell your friends you did but you would not eat it several times

This place is like a hole in the wall, and absolutely delicious. I'd have to say the wait for me wasn't that long. The staff were very friendly. I'd have a garbage can on site to put your waste in after eating at the outdoor tables. They serve mostly ice cream and dessert style pastry, but they do have a poutine one and some wrapped hot dogs. I definitely like this place. If you haven't been there before you should at least try it once.

I was told president Obama visited Beavertail in Ottawa so we wanted to try their food while visiting Victoria. It was neat and fun. Good tasty desert. Don’t expect seatings though as there is only couple of outdoor tables and a few chairs.Recommended dishesClassic

My all time favourite! We have to hunt down a beavertails shop everywhere we go. Decided to try another flavor this time - the salted caramel flavor. It’s a little sweeter than what I would like but heck it’s still great! Satisfied my sweet tooth craving for the day.

A must have if in Victoria or anywhere you can get them. It so hard to pick which flavour but the Nutella and banana you can’t go wrong with.

Someone mentioned that they heard Obama visited the one in Ottawa? so we skipped that one and waited until we got out to Victoria. Great decision. Highly recommend

Busy wonderful dessert store but you would not have to wait for long. Service is friendly and quick. Beavertails pastries are delicious and a must try.

I am ashamed to say that I only just had a beaver tail for the first time today, and wasn’t disappointed. Wonderful little treat, that I would describe as Canada’s twist on the churro. I just tried the original today, but plan to return and try one of the fancier options tomorrow. Giving the place 4 stars as there is limited cover and on a rainy day like today, it can be miserable.

As I Canadian, I really love BeaverTails! I am always on the lookout for one as they always seem to be hidden somewhere but never where I am! I am so glad that I could find one in Victoria! I got the Maple one this time and it was very good! I will continue my hunt for BeaverTail stands wherever I go! ;
