Cute store!! Have a bunch of cool and instagramable drinks! The service is super frie...
Is it worth the crazy line up or the looong wait for your drink? Probably not. It's good, the tea is very good and flavourful but is it worth $10? I wouldn't say so. I got the milk tea with less ice and 70% sweet which is their "max" or "perfect " and it was a bit too sweet for me. For context, I drink 30% at coco. I went on a Monday at 2:30 pm so there wasn't much of a line but they also ran out of tapioca which was a bummer. I would go back to try their tapioca but maybe wait a bit for the hype to die down. And there is no promo during their soft opening right now.
Saw the line, gave it a try and once was enough. We ordered the following: 1. Formosa fruit tea can only choose no sugar or regular sugar. full ice or less ice. I chose regular sugar and it was super sweet. not much fruit taste. 2. high mountain Pouchong tea too airy, not much tea taste.
Culturally, it's fun to see CHICHA come from Taiwan to Markham. The teas are varied in flavour and are all very flavourful. Personally, I think less sugar and less or no ice brings out the tea flavours more, so take that into consideration. It's certainly on the pricier side, but it's an enjoyable experience. There's a fair number of customization options! As an aside teaspresso machine is fun to watch and it's a beautiful machine
This new spot originates from Taiwan with a verification that is equivalent to 2 or 3 Michelin stars. They have some awards posted if you want to take a look First location is downtown and so glad it made its way up to markville mall. Already opening and starting with lineups is such a good sign They have an espresso like machine that they run the tea leaves through and the result is a much smoother texture in the teas, with a big noticeability in the milk tea. I have the original milk tea where their boba is fresh. Not too sweet but excellent taste and texture. I went during weekdays so no lineups. Service was great explaining all their products. You're looking at 10-15 a drink
Ordered the Bubble Milk Tea and was pleasantly surprised! Was nervous that everything I’d been hearing was pure hype, but truly got an experience out of this drink. A soft, velvety smooth mouthfeel, gentle tea taste, and tapioca balls that I kept chewing even after the last slurps of tea were gone. Soooo lovely and warm and chewy, beautifully cooked. This is not really a place to sit at unfortunately, despite the few chairs scattered. Drinks are also only available in regular size, and at slightly elevated prices no less, which is painful for someone like me who would happily have had two large-sized drinks.
Got the bubble milk tea and it was yummy!! It's hard to find bbt shops where you can taste the tea very noticeably these days. The tapioca was also very well made - chewy and perfectly sweet. Only thing I'd say is the price... $10 for a regular sized bbt is not cheap, and while the drink is delicious, the cost is really something to consider.
Ordered Dong Ding Oolong tea with fresh milk tea as they recommended. The taste was way under my expectation. It has a thick tea flavour without being milky. Also, the actual wait time was round 15 minutes instead of 5 minutes as they said. It ruined the brand reputation as a Michelin-level. Waste time&money. Will not go again and not recommended.
The Hermes of bubble teas and a must try! The tea flavours are fresh and aromatic. The Taro flavour and the Lemon wonderland tastes incredible. Highly recommend it! Parking: Mall parking and easy to access as it’s on the second floor above the food court
Tried their Classic Bubble Tea - its got a very distinct taste, and tapioca were made just right. Their BBT is on the pricier end... but I feel the quality justifies the cost compared to their competitors. Can't wait to try their other drinks! Edit 2023/10/30: I went back for a 2nd time, and this time I ordered Taro Queen. Seems like they have a specific tea brewed for different flavors... which makes the wait a tad bit longer compared to other places. The drink was phenomenal, the tea and taro flavor was well balanced and the taro tapioca was nothing short of amazin.
We checked out this new spot at Markville Mall , here’s what we thought We got their Formosa Fruit Tea. The Fruit Tea was Black Tea base, it had diced Pineapple, Passionfruit, and sliced Apple. We heard good things about their Tea being rich in flavour, but it wasn’t at all…. Sugar Level also cannot be adjusted, so it was a bit overly sweet with the syrup on their already sweet Fruits… For the price, it was quite disappointing tbh…
