I don’t like leaving negative reviews but I have nothing positive to say about our experience here besides the fact that it’s a good location. We stayed here for a friend’s wedding last week on Thursday. We paid 260 for the night, and it was NOT worth it. The heat was set to max and the air conditioner is unbelievably loud. The black out curtains drift apart and there is a light directly outside the window. I had to use my hair clip to keep it closed. Those were frustrating, but tolerable problems. The biggest issue was at 745am we were woken up by NAIL GUNS and construction workers. The nails guns going off every five minutes was more than unpleasant and I feel like for 260 dollars we should have been at least warned that this would be happening so we could request a different room. I spoke with the service worker at the desk in the morning and was met with “oh yeah they’re redoing the roof it’s so annoying”. No offer to compensate, not even an apology. We did not want to wake up at 745 the night after a wedding. Very unhappy with this hotel and I would not stay here again.
Love this hotel. Great location with lots of parking. Rooms are spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. The hotel provided items that made the experience feel extra special, including a special bag for my dog that included treats, a frisbee, and a bone-shaped poop bag holder to hook onto her leash. Staff went above and beyond to be friendly and accommodating, and I had a great stay!
Overall 5 Stars from me! While not the Banff Springs but any means, the Canmore Inn has been a great place for me to enjoy some rest during ski season! Good prices for what I need, which is a place to crash, on top of that they always treat me well upon my return and provide me a better room whenever they have something available. They treat their returning guests well, which is something that’s missing from other places these days! Already getting my bookings in for the 2024/2025 ski season at great prices!
Nice location but staff was unknowledgeable about local business. Had asked about food nearby and was told all closed by 10:00pm at 9:30 pm. A quick Google search proved that wrong, some places were open until 2-3am, I would expect more from hospitality staff. Very low effort/unhelpful in terms of in person service. Not worth it. You can see from their responses they don't care about their low reviews either.
There are a few things to consider if you are booking this hotel. Yes, it’s in Canmore in a decent location. You pay the high tourist price but the property had fallen short in many places. The lobby is in middle of property and a bit inconvenient with parking that’s tight. The room is okay size with window in back to see mountain; there is no area to sit out. There is a train track directly in back of hotel so you’ll hear the trains going by. The shampoo ran out quickly for family of 4; they only provide small containers. Yes, there is a waterslide, but the kids didn’t want to go since the pool was small. There are parts of the property that look undone as well. One positive was breakfast area that the staff keeps stocked and cleaned it costs about $16 per person. I’d recommend staying at another place considering the price paid.
