Canadian Tire

One of the better Canadian tire locations. Staff seems friendly when I leave self checkout telling me to have a nice day and most of it is relatively organized. I find it helpful when the Canadian tire website has the location of an item listed in the store which cuts down on shopping time. Decent amount of item lookup kiosks scattered throughout the store which helps when I can't get service inside.nnI always come here for auto accessories. Good sales and good selection compared to other big box retailers. Aisles don't feel as crowded compared to some other stores as well.

In the past I always had good shopping experience, but today I had a very bad and upset experience here. I ordered a vacuum online on Tuesday. I came to pick up at 4PM. In the customer service, I asked is it possible I can do a price match now it’s $50 cheaper compared I ordered 3 days ago. They looked at their computer and phone, the price still the same. I said the website is cheaper. Then the lady said it showed in Burnaby location, we don’t do store match up. I choice Port Coq location, still cheaper price. But both of them said on their system still the same price. I said then if they can’t do price match, I just return it and made a new order again. Then I showed the lady my new order, she said I just made the order, I need to come tomorrow to pick up. Excuse me?! It’s their system pricing problem, why I need to come again? I called the manager out to help, more than half hour, finally I picked up the item. I told my friend the bad experience, she just got one in BBY location, she said in the store still $299, but she showed them the online price, she made the sale in two minutes. All my appliances from Canadian Tire, it’s my first time wrote a review for bad experience.

I usually don’t go to this location and I will not be returning here again. I waited at the paint counter for 15 min and I was just about to walk out and saw they had return paint for sale. I figured it’s just a shed so why not…I bring it up to the check out and the lady tells me “I’m too busy you’ll have to go to the self check out”. I told her it was clearance paint and it likely won’t scan at the discounted price. She informed me it would it have coarse didn't. The lady running the self check didn’t believe it was clearance paint there was a sticker and long story short I waited yet another 15 minutes for her to call a hardware associate to confirm who was also rude. This all would have been fine I realize stuff happens but I can’t get over how rude the staff is at this location.

I made an appointment and brought my car in to have the thermostat temperature sensors replaced… and the guy at the auto desk quoted me $700 diagnosis not included.nnOn a later date, I went on the Canadian Tire website to find the part and saw that it was in stock. I came back to the store and it only cost me $27 for one.nnSo a $646 markup on $54 worth of parts and a 30 minute replacement job??? Such a rip off and a headache because now I have to find another mechanic to install these parts, and wasted time making an appointment here in the first place.

Very helpful and pleasant staff. Wide selection. Fast check out. Lots of parking. In a great complex with many stores around.
