I had gone to this camp when I was a teen. It was really nice. It was owned by a family called Ellis. There was a little store out front where campers could chat and get a few groceries. The front of the house had a nice cement deck. And there were fewer trailers. I went to talk to the people that run it now, but I could not find them anywhere. I was saddened, that there was so much junk out front, and it made it difficult to get to the door. The pride of the campgrounds appearance seems to be gone. Years ago the house was a hub, where people gathered. When I read the comments about the park, I was surprised. Things change. But I hope the next time we find ourselves up in the area, that Buckslide Camp will be accessible for campers to come in to camp for a night or two.
Nice people. Quiet. Good but small beach. Water is clean and clear of weeds with gradual entry. Great for little ones.
Buckslide is a beautiful piece of property. Beach is excellent, with a nice view of the bay. Lake is clean and beach is sandy. Seasonal trailers are now shoe horned in, this was not the case when we visited our friends who had a trailer there years ago in the 90's. There are next to no overnight sites and the ones that do exist are very small and in a high traffic area at the entrance offering absolutely zero privacy. The folks who manage the park are not professional to say the least. If there was more privacy and a change of management I actually would consider putting a trailer here.
Great Park fantastic owners and family like campers. Good areas for kids and water connects with Boshkung Lake. Lots of hiking available in area.
Terrible campground. Poorly kept grounds, litter laying around. Very small beach area that is difficult to access. Website advertises free wifi at all sites when in fact there is no wifi anywhere. Owner/manager is rarely on site. This may have been a very nice park at one time, but now it is just a run down mess. I would not recommend this park to stay at.
Awful park. Management are rude, campsites are jammed in like sardines and drunk people all over the small dirty beach. I would rather camp in a walmart parking lot where its clean and safe.
Great people! Would like to see the Lilly pad & swim raft in the water play ground needs to be reopened also.
Started coming here two years ago. Beautiful trailer park, swimming area is great, and very accessible to enter the trailer park. Overall I'm impressed
Great spot ... park operators are fab!
Been camping here for years. Best run park in haliburton. Great beach and miles of boating.
