Brigadoon Bed & Breakfast

Delightful all around! We stayed in two different rooms on either side of a trip to Mackinac Island, and both were lovely, clean, and comfortable. It's an old building but they've managed it well, and I will never again underestimate the joy of a jacuzzi after a long day of sightseeing! The food was excellent seconds at breakfast if you ask for it... It helps that we had perfect weather, but one of the highlights was sitting on the front porch for a bit one morning and enjoying the view and the pretty gardens. Super convenient for Shepler's Ferry, too, and the Brigadoon let us leave the car for the days we were on the Island.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights here before going over to the island and staying at this bed and breakfast sister company, Bayview B&B. We enjoyed our suite and took advantage of the private balcony on the 3rd floor morning and evening. Breakfast and evening desserts were both tasty and filling. Staff were over the top friendly and helpful. Looking forward to returning to the city and staying again.

Excellent service and beautiful rooms. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was so romantic and lovely. We stayed longer than normal guests--5 nights--but the staff was patient, kind, and attentive every day. Anne Marie was especially kind to us; she even cooked me a different breakfast when she found out I didn't like French toast which was the breakfast that day. And there was free dessert every day!! It is definitely on the pricier side and it isn't for family with kids; but if you are a couple I think it is well worth the extra money. Only hiccup was that we couldn't use the jacuzzi setting because it would spurt out of the bathtub and leak to the room below. The building is old so I won't fault Brigadoon for that. Overall, a magical stay!! I highly recommend this bnb to any couples travelling to/through Mackinaw City. Thank you Brigadoon!!!

Great stay! It is beautifully decorated, soft comfortable beds and lovely views! I really loved sitting on the balcony and just relaxing. You can't go wrong staying here!Rooms: 5/5

i really want to highlight the service we got there, i found mentions of this place in a couple of websites talking about romantic places to stay in mackinaw, i called and reserved and mentioned that my friend is gluten intolerant. i was surprised to see that the hotel had gluten free bread, gluten free muffins, and was able to make a full gluten free breakfast for her and we both were very happy!! the hotel was clean, the staff was super friendly. more than happy with my stay thank you!

My husband took me there fir my 80th birthday. I love the Victorian era and this place is amazing! Our room, sitting room and bath were beautiful and comfortable. The staff .... Harold, Romaine and Athea were gracious, prifessional, but most if all, very friendly. They made us feel right at home! These three are jewel emoyees and a great asset to your establishment. TERESA COREY you have not stayed at the Brigadoon Bed and Breakfast in two and a half years? You copied and pasted your untrue comments from a post two and a half years ago about the Brigadoon because they would not give you a free room after staying and eating breakfast.

DO NOT STAY HERE ! The staff is rude. We asked to see a room and the woman at the desk was so put out that she had to show us! She rushed us and told us to hurry, we could only look for one minute. She probably knew the room was bad. I should have known something was off then but we really enjoy staying at B&B's. Room 203 is dated and dirty. Carpet is buckling; be careful not to trip. The shower was a drip at best. We could not take a shower in the morning, which I suppose saved us from the killer ants on the bathroom floor. The room had a balcony but was so dirty you could not sit on it. We called to complain and was told that they would contact somebody off site to get back with us. Breakfast was a joke ! Some type of watered down rice and red pepper square, a slice of a boiled hot dog, a triangle cut piece of watermelon & a dried out pastry. The glasses were filled with an ounce of orange juice and they served cold coffee. No one came to check on us and we couldn't find anyone to see if there was something else. Minimal customer service ! When we left the one woman behind the desk didn't acknowledge; acted like she didn't want to be bothered. We had to call again to speak to someone about our stay. We finally got a call back from Tim, who was calling us from Mackinac Island. He was rude and basically said he didn't believe us, he didn't care and oh well !!

We stayed here for our honeymoon for 5 days. We had Sarah's Suite. Which can be expanded to accommodate a larger party with connecting doors to other rooms. Our room had a beautiful four post king sized bed, with a jacuzzi tub en suite. There was a fridge and coffee maker. Plenty of closet space and vanity space to unpack and get comfortable. Everything was spotless. The room, and the entirety of the building that we saw was impeccably clean. The staff at the front desk were knowledgeable about the area and gave us some excellent suggestions for dinner and sights around town. Miss Lemmon in the kitchen is an angel. She made breakfast every morning and it was always great. Loaded hashbrowns, omelets, fresh fruit, sausages. It was all good. She also oversaw dessert in the evenings and that was always delicious. It also encouraged us to get back to the B&B by 8 every night so we didn't miss it and got to bed at a decent time. The communal areas were all very cute and nicely decorated. Very welcoming and inviting. We got a great rate on our room and after looking around at hotels in the area for something with comparable amenities realize we got a great deal, and had a meal a day taken care of. The staff were always willing to accommodate an unusual request, such as asking to have personal food prepped for day excursions. I really like to have fresh veggies or fruit to snack on throughout the day if we are hiking or going out, and the staff was willing to prepare everything for me, and when we left for the day I just asked for my cucumbers or apples all nicely chopped and packaged. Or if you prefer a particular drink with breakfast they'd make sure to get it for you. Over all a wonderful experience that worked within a budget. If I could give it 10 stars I would.

Very nice bed and breakfast. Staff was super friendly. Rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. Very nicely decorated. Quiet. Delicious breakfast. They have dessert at 8pm in the evening - we had lemon cheesecake when we were there. Again, very good. Highly recommend and would stay there again when we pass through.
