We stayed there in May 1998 it was lovely. Enjoyed staying there. When we arrived they asked us if we wanted to buy fudge. We only wanted to check in. Our room was nice and clean. The cross stitch of two doves on the wall outside our room made it even more special since I just got one days before exactly like it. It was our pre honeymoon trip before we got married. There are plenty of samples of free fudge on the island at almost all locations you visit. It is Michigan’s summer place.
Overall, a nice hotel.nWe had an issue at check in regarding a double booking.nWe reserved one room for one night. It took a bit but the issue was resolved.nThe room was small but the bathroom was nice sized.nThe room had a nice bay window but the view was a brick wall, but I understand not every room can have a view. The side of the window did have access to see some of the lake.nnThe roof hot tub area was very nice but it closed at 10 so I did not get to enjoy that amenity.nLater hours would be really nice.
Old, extremely outdated, motel vibe. If you are a light sleeper, you simply won’t sleep. You hear people all night outside we had a room facing Main Street. The room looks like a 1940’s motel where the carpet hasn’t been redone in 35 years l. We had blood on our sheets. The towels were most certainly from the dollar store or worse. The shampoo and bar soap is cheap. The location was prime of course but you must sleep with ear plugs. I’d stay off Main Street to be honestly. I paid $997 for 3 nights when I’d say $350 max would have been generous enough. I barely slept and was up every hour due to noise through the thin walls. I’d never stay here again. The staff was friendly but this place is a dump. Hope that helps!
The location can’t be beat! Staff is friendly, helpful, and responds quickly to concerns and requests. Rooms are a bit ‘shabby chic’, but clean and comfortable. Great sun deck and hot tub!nnIt would be nice if there was a cafe that served traditional American breakfasts and lunches.
We went on a 3rd grade overnight trip, and everyone was friendly and we had a good time, very accommodating. Their fudge was kind of expensive, even with the 20% off, it was $20 a pound. I went to Murdicks, the original fudge shop and got 5# for $36.95 and a 14oz package of saltwater taffy for $50 out the door, and she gave me a Fancy Poly bag instead of just a paper one.
