Blue Lagoon Seafood Master

Very very large dining room crowded with many tables and a small amount of servers. I especially enjoyed their lobster fried rice which featured just the right balance of various ingredients, and poached marinated chicken which was juicy and succulent without being overly oily. Although the food was mainly good the service was sadly not, it seemed rushed, haphazardness and unfriendly. There's also very little privacy when dining here. Prices are on the high side but fairly worth it. The dining crowd seems to be mainly elderly Chinese people.

The most unprofessional business that I’ve ever had the displeasure of interacting with. They withheld my mother’s $500 deposit even though they 1. They did not present written paperwork to confirm that my mother understood her agreement with them. 2. They intentionally withheld information concerning the policies of their deposit. 3. They did not bother to even give my mother an invoice of this transaction. My family tried on 4 different occasions to resolve this with them and had to run back and forth 3 times. Each time they gave us a different answer as to why they couldn’t give the deposit back. They finally told us that they could but when we went there they asked for the invoice (which was not given to us). They told me that my mom needed to come in with her ID and a witness and she would only need to sign something to have the money returned. She did this very thing and their response was that she didn’t have the invoice and ignored her afterwards. These guys lie, steal, and play mind games. Be extremely careful when dealing with them. My mother, whose English skills are not good, was taken advantage of and lied to multiple times simply because she could not defend herself. We gave them many opportunities to correct this issue only to find that they would not help us after all. Avoid at all costs. This business will definitely be reported to the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer services very soon. That $50,000 fine will be preferable to returning a $500 I suppose.

Dumplings were definitely above average, some of the best I've had Rice noodle rolls and some other items were below average Service was as expected for a busy dim sum place, but there were a few negatives: 1. It's cash only and I noticed this written on the menu. I asked the server if there was an ATM before ordering and was told we could pay at the front with debit. When I went to the front at the end, I was told I could pay with debit, but it would essentially be double the price (there was a special before 11 AM). There is no ATM in the restaurant. I found the manager at the front was rude and confrontational about it. 2. We wanted to add 2 dessert items to our order, which created a lot of confusion, and we ended up waiting over an hour for this to be entered and the items to arrive. I had to ask 3 different servers just to get the order placed (despite writing it clearly on their order sheet), and then one of the items never arrived and I had to let them know twice we were still waiting for it and to please look into it.

Food was good and was definitely on par with most like-restaurants. However, the service was easily the worst out of any establishment I've ever been to. We were missing cutlery and plates, no big deal. Asked to get some...asked three times and took 20 minutes. Food was seriously slow to come out. Don't even want to get into how long it took to get the bill, but it was bad. I'm confident in saying I'll never go back.

If you're coming for dim sum, you definitely need to get here early. You'll probably have to take a number, especially on weekends. There's a discount if you place your order before 11am - the main drawback here is you have to have it entered into the computer, so if staff are slacking and don't take your paper or don't get to the computer in time, you could lose that opportunity to save a bit of money. The food is pretty good and relatively quick. Even if we're heading elsewhere in Mississauga, we'll stop by here for a reasonably priced dim sum that the whole family will enjoy. They have a nice variety and the dishes are pretty filling. They used to have deep fried bittermelon which was absolutely delicious, but it's since been removed from the menu. The place is quite clean and nice, very spacious and well decorated. The bathrooms are nicely maintained and the signs bear a cute lobster aesthetic. It's central to other convenient shopping, but in the same vein as snagging a table, snagging a parking spot is a bit tricky too.
